Hear Diplo and Octavian team up for ‘New Shapes’

Diplo has enlisted Octavian for his new single ‘Octavian’, the mega-producer’s first piece of new music for 2019.

Lifted off his upcoming ‘Europa’ EP, due later this month, Diplo speaks of the chance meeting with Octavian that led to the collaboration. “I met Octavian at a party in London. We took a photo and I never thought I would see the kid again,” he says – “Over the next six months I kept hearing his name and seeing him on great songs. I tried to stay in touch even though he had another twelve phone numbers since we met. Finally, he was stuck in L.A. for a while and it was easy to pull up on him. After a few weeks we nailed this song and I’m glad it gets to finally see the light of day. Big up to Jim-E Stack for producing this with me.”

During his chat with Annie Mac, who premiered the song as her latest BBC Radio 1 ‘Hottest Record’, Diplo also confirmed new Major Lazer material was in the works, with tour stops expected throughout the summer.

‘Europa’, which lands on 22nd February, marks Diplo’s first piece of solo work since last year’s ‘California’ EP. Listen to ‘New Shapes’ below:

Khalid has shared his first piece of new music for 2019, teaming up with Disclosure for ‘Talk’.

Speaking to Zane Lowe who premiered the song as his latest World Record on Apple’s Beats 1, Khalid describes ‘Talk’ as “one of [his] favourite tracks ever”, and appears as the lead single from the US musician’s upcoming second studio album, set to land in April. “This album is the culmination of all of the growth and experiences I have gathered over the past two remarkable years” he says, adding “I have been in the studio pouring my soul and spirit to create a body of work that I hope speaks to each and every one of you and I am excited to share, Talk is the first taste of that today.”

Icarus have shared their all-new track ‘Running Away’ ahead of the imminent release of their forthcoming ‘This Must Be The Place’ EP.

As expansive as some of the duo’s more hypnotic late-night tracks of the past, ‘Running Away’ smoothly gears up for the release of ‘This Must Be The Place’ on 8th February. The project will also feature ‘Man Of The Land‘ which the production outfit delivered back in November.

Stream Ariana Grande’s new album ‘thank u, next’

Ariana Grande’s new album ‘thank u, next’ has started to appear on streaming platforms ahead of its global release on Friday (8th February).

Released as the surprise follow-up to last summer’s ‘Sweetener’ LP (which subsequently has spanned various global tour dates), Grande’s new record, her fifth full-length studio project, has so far come preceded by the album’s title-track, alongside new songs ‘Imagine’ and ‘7 Rings’. Credits see co-writing efforts from Grande herself, alongside collaborations with global pop-supremo, Max Martin.

P!nk to perform at 2019 BRIT Awards; wins Outstanding Contribution

P!nk has been announced as the 2019 BRIT Awards recipient for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

Revealed earlier this evening (6th February), the singer’s award-win also coincides with confirmation she will be taking to the stage when the ceremony returns on 20th February. It’s likely she will perform her new song ‘Walk Me Home’, the first single from her upcoming new album ‘Hurts To Be Human’, out in April.

Of the award win, Pink says “I am so honored to be recognized with the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award at the 2019 BRITs! Since the beginning of my career the British fans have been some of the most fierce and loyal in the world. I am humbled to receive this honor and be in the company of an illustrious group of British icons!”

Mahalia has shared the title-track for her forthcoming ‘Do Not Disturb’ tour.

Produced by Felix Joseph (who collaborated with the BRITs Critics’ Choice runner-up on ‘Surprise Me’ and ‘That’s OK’), the track comes ahead of Mahalia’s showcase at London’s Oslo on 27th March alongside Celeste and Kojey Radical. The ‘Do Not Disturb’ tour will also see her play at Manchester’s O2 Ritz and London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire in April.

Lifted as the third track off Mav’s upcoming studio record ‘When I Wake Up’, due 22nd March, ‘Slow Down’ follows the release of the Chronixx-featuring ‘Her Grace‘, shared back in December. The Irish soul singer will also be supporting his new record with a full-scale UK tour in April, details of which you can find underneath.

Lifted off their forthcoming studio album ‘No Geography’, set for release this spring, the duo’s latest single follows its initial preview during their various live shows last summer. Directed by Michel and Olivier Gondry, the release of the video also coincides with the announcement of a one-off headline show at Cornwall’s Eden Project in June.
