Wireless Festival has become the latest live music casualty from the Covid-19 outbreak, with organisers confirming this year’s event will be postponed to 2021.
Initially scheduled to return to London’s Finsbury Park across the 3-5 July weekend, organisers released a statement saying “Our heart goes out to the artists and fans who were looking forward to Wireless Festival”, with hopes that the festival will return on 2nd-4th July 2021.
However organisers have also teased that Wireless fans may still have some taste of the festival over the summer, with a ‘virtual edition’ planned. 2019’s Wireless saw a 360 virtual reality broadcast from Melody VR, so here’s hoping something similar (albeit with artists conforming to social distancing measures) will also take place.
