Defected have announced the fifth instalment of their much-celebrated Virtual Festival, enlisting a host of dance heavyweights for an eight-hour live-stream later this week.
Set to kick off at 2pm GMT, Friday 8th May, the latest event will feature the likes of Danny Howard, A-Trak, Claptone, Duke Dumont and OFFAIAH, with concurrent streaming taking place across Defected’s various social channels.
When the COVID-19 lockdown was put in place, Defected became oone of the first to experiment with live-streamed events of this kind. The new-era music business continues to innovate in the digital events space, with state-of-the-art production and interactivity, going so far as to offer festival slots to its talented community of DJs. Described by Facebook as defying “the woes of coronavirus”, Defected’s Virtual Festivals have so far collected 12 million views from far and wide across the seven events, including two from Defected’s sister label Glitterbox. While events are hit by inevitable cancellations and postponements, Defected continue to plug an ever-widening gap for dance music lovers to still enjoy their favourite artists and even discover new ones while adhering to social distancing rules.
Alongside this week’s soiree, Defected’s sister brand Glitterbox will return for its own Virtual Festival, with headliners still to be revealed.
