Dear readers
Now we’re entering December, I just wanted to write a short note as a way of a ‘thank-you’ to a multitude of people.
When we started Stagedoor FM toward the end of January, we were told we should expect around 500 views a month for the first six months, and then perhaps around 750 a month for the further six. That sounded fair; we were entering into a category that seemed fairly diluted already; most people who want music news or the latest bits of streaming already have their preferred places, so when entering this territory I couldn’t have expected more than want was quoted at that time.
However, over time, we’ve seen what started out as a casual blog turn into much much more. By May 2013, we were already hitting over 5,000 a month, thanks to the constant stream of new content we were updating (a big thanks to the labels and PR agencies who have provided us with the press releases to create such content). By August, we were just shy of 10,000 pages a month, and then after our major relaunch in September, we started hitting major numbers.
September hit a record, at that time of over 32,000 views…. obviously we were over the moon with this, then came October where we tripled this with over 97,000 views. I’m pleased to announce that not only did we break the 100,000 barrier in November, we eclipsed it, ending up on over 125,000 pages viewed!
The heat is on for December however we’ve already reigned to it being a quiet month (boo), unless some major news stories break over the next couple of weeks. Who knows, there may be ‘something’ happening next week in the music world (we can’t say more, though we wish we could!).
Anyhow, we couldn’t have got there had it not been for multiple parties…. the PR agencies and labels, whom we already mentioned; our review and feature contributors – you’re brilliant and a big round of applause goes out to you for donating your time, effort and words. And finally, our readers, from all around the world – thank you, Danke, Grazie, Merci, Gracias. We couldn’t have got there without you!
2014 is already shaping up to be exciting for Stagedoor FM, as we embark further into the world of entertainment, spending more time on our TV and Movie section, along with a few more surprises (which we can’t talk about…. yet).
