Lorde has teamed up with iTunes to give away, for a limited time, her summer smash Royals along with brand new track No Better.
The giveaway is part of Apple’s ’12 Days of Christmas’ annual iOS app, which provides users a free gift of content for the twelve days following Christmas. The two songs are offered as a ‘gift to get you started’.

Sam Bailey has won the 2013 series of hit UK TV show The X Factor.
The contestant, who earned over 1 million votes to her name for the final, will be releasing a cover of Demi Lovato’s Skycraper as her winning single, on sale tonight.
As part of winning the competition, Bailey will be supporting Beyonce on the UK leg of her forthcoming tour. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am and expected to sell out quickly; click here to be redirected to Ticketmaster UK and for more information.
Statistics announced during the spin-off show ‘The Xtra Factor’ showed that Bailey won the voting of eight of the ten live shows, whilst runner-up Nicholas McDonald won the other two.

After just 48 hours on sale, Beyonce’s new self-titled album debuts in the Official Albums Chart Top 5 during one of the busiest sales weeks of the year.
The follow-up to 2011’s 4 was widely expected to be released early next year, however the former Destiny’s Child singer decided to take a leaf out of David Bowie’s book, and issued her fifth full-length without any prior notice on Friday morning (December 13).
The 14 track album, which is currently only available digitally, features collaborations with Drake, Frank Ocean, as well as her husband, Jay Z, and her one-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
Martin Talbot, the Official Charts Company’s Chief Executive, said, “It is a great achievement by Beyoncé to make such an impact so quickly, after just two days sales – and especially with only the digital edition available. Few (if any) albums have sold as many digital copies in such a short space of time.”
Coinciding with the release of the new album, Beyonce also announced her return to the UK next year, bringing further dates to her Mrs Carter Show World Tour. The first official single by the winner of this year’s The X Factor UK, has been announced.
The two finalists of the competition, Sam Bailey and Nicholas McDonald, were confirmed last night, after Luke Friend received the lowest number of votes to stay in the competition. Both finalists will sing their own version of their winning track on this evening’s live show (ITV1, 8pm), with viewers casting the final votes for their favourite contestant.
Sam Bailey’s song has been confirmed as Demi Lovato’s Skyscraper, whilst Nicholas McDonald will sing Five For Fightings’ Superman.
The winning single will be available for download at midnight tonight, whilst the physical release will appear in-stores next week.
Tonight’s show will also be joined by a plethora of special guests, including One Direction and Katy Perry, whilst Gary Barlow is also set to duet with Elton John.

As you’ve probably already realised, the world was caught completely off-guard yesterday with the unveiling of Beyonce’s fifth studio album, released simultaneously around the world coinciding with its imminent announcement. Whilst everyone knew a new album was on its way, the entire secrecy around the project (unveiling, release, a video for EVERY SINGLE TRACK) surpassed even Bowie’s earlier 2013 shock announcement of new material, and eclipsed Timberlake’s “I’m Ready” PR spin from January.
We’ve put together a few pointers that fans may not have been weary of when it’s come to the new Beyonce release…. most are true, some we’ve made up just for kicks, but hey, read on below:
– The project was full of code-names; most recently (and widely-used) was Lily, in the hope people wouldn’t latch on. It worked.
– The release was originally always planned for Q4, however was strongly considered to be moved to Q1 2014 due to the heavy release structure already appearing during the winter-months (Gaga, Eminem, Katy Perry).
– Beyonce was fearful that the album would commercially fail due to Boyzone’s new return to the charts.
– The final album started to take shape in late-October.
– The deadline for the record wasn’t even confirmed until late last-week!!
– Beyonce had originally planned to release the album on cassette-only to help boost flagging sales of the format, but upheaved that idea ten minutes after she thought of it.
– The singer was still working on the final vocals up until less than two weeks ago!
– Producers involved in the final release were only informed last week.
– Hardly ANYONE knew about the record until the last moment (Columbia/Sony employees were only told about the cut a few hours before the rest of the world).
– Only the most senior of executives at iTunes knew of the release (externally from the label).
– The album will be released on most formats after iTunes’ one-week exclusivity finishes next Friday.
– Drunk In Love and Blow are both set for simultaneous releases as singles next week.
