Beyonce and Madonna to perform at the Grammy Awards?

0

According to online reports from the ‘usually-accurate’ LA Times, Beyonce and Madonna are set to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, adding to the already-confirmed line-up which includes Kendrick Lamar, Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and more.

If confirmed, the ceremony will be Beyonce’s first official [non-self tour] performance of material from her recently-released self-titled new album.

Adding fuel to the rumour-mill, Grammys show producer Ken Ehrlich said “Let’s put it this way…We have a really great history that goes back to the early days of Destiny’s Child…. She’s incredible. She is so into what it is that she does and making sure that everybody who sees her walks away saying ‘Wow’”.

A source close to the show has also seemingly confirmed that Madonna will take to the stage and lend guest vocals during a performance from one of the night’s nominees.

More as we hear it. The Grammy Awards are set to take place on 26th January.

**UPDATE** Beyonce has been confirmed to appear at this month’s award ceremony, in a new promotional video from broadcaster CBS. The video also confirms performances from Jay Z, Lorde, Bruno Mars, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Hunter Hayes and more.

Lorde advises aspiring musicians to “Make music, make so much music you have no friends”.

0

Lorde has opened up to Rolling Stone regarding her inspirations throughout her life, alongside offering a few pearls of wisdom to anyone looking to make it in the music industry.

In the interview, which can be read here over at Rolling Stone, the chart-topping New Zealander counts Grace Jones as a style-influencer, whilst also offering advice to new artists:

My advice to young people wanting to make music and to be in this industry is to really spend your time making music. Make so much music you have no friends. Make music. Figure out what it is you love, and. . .because if you’re making cool art, then everything else will fall into line. If it’s good enough, if it’s cool enough, if it has enough emotion in it, people will listen, and people will love it. And there’s nothing else.
