POLL: The 50 Greatest UK Garage Tracks Of All Time

Almost 20 years ago, a genre of music started to emerge, one that eventually defined the sound of a unique spin on house and electro. For those followers of UK Garage, even today, spinning a UKG track is often met by warm memories; here, we are looking to YOU, our beloved readers, to help us drill down some of the biggest UK Garage songs in a bid find the Top 50 Greatest UK Garage Tracks of All Time.

Hit the poll below to cast your votes; now’s the time to be picky as you can select up to ten tracks, and remember to subscribe to Stagedoor FM, follow us on Twitter

Verse 1:
I drew the smile upon my face
I paved the road that would one day leave me lonely
No angels too good to fall from grace
If she lets go of whatever keeps her holy

Pre-Chorus:
But I’m still here holding on so tight
To everything I left behind
I don’t care if the world is mine
Cause this is all I know

Chorus:
When I got my back up against the wall
Don’t need no one to rescue me
Cause I ain’t waiting up for no miracle
Yeah, tonight I’m running free
Into the blue, into the blue
With nothing to lose, into the blue

Verse 2:
I’m not ashamed of all my mistakes
Cause through the cold, I still kept the fire burning
These memories that I can’t erase
Always remind me I’m on an endless journey

Pre-Chorus:
But I’m still here holding on so tight
To everything I left behind
I don’t care if the world is mine
Cause this is all I know

Chorus:
When I got my back up against the wall
Don’t need no one to rescue me
Cause I ain’t waiting up for no miracle
Yeah, tonight I’m running free
Into the blue, into the blue
With nothing to lose, into the blue

Bridge:
I’ll go where nobody knows
Wherever the wind is blowing
Even if I’m alone

Chorus:
When I got my back up against the wall
Don’t need no one to rescue me
Cause I ain’t waiting up for no miracle
Yeah, tonight I’m running free
Into the blue, into the blue
With nothing to lose, into the blue

The demo of the song, the first track taken from Jackson’s 1991 album Dangerous, sounds incredibly polished even in its initial form, however listeners can clearly hear parts where the singer had yet to finish writing the lyrics for the second verse…
