New music: Avicii – ‘You Make Me’ (Diplo & Ookay remix)

After initially teasing the track last month, Diplo and Ookay have premiered their remix of Avicii’s late-summer smash You Make Me.

Taking a more ‘underground’ approach, the remix is full of synths, outstanding loops and some of the biggest pitch drops you’ve heard in a while. If only all EDM sounded like this!

Little Mix unveil new single ‘Word Up’ in aid of Sport Relief

Little Mix have premiered their contribution to this year’s Sport Relief, with new single Word Up.

The track, a cover of Cameo’s infamous 80’s track, is to be the official sound of this year’s Sport Relief charity, and is set for release on 17th March.

New music: Alicia Keys – ‘Power’

Alicia Keys has unveiled unreleased track Power, a song she wrote and recorded in 2007.

The track, premiered today in honour of Martin Luther King (today is Martin Luther King Day in the US), is a powerful jazzy number that sees Keys back to her best. So much so, that we genuinely can’t stop playing it!

Hall & Oates confirm 2014 UK summer tour

Iconic 80s duo Daryl Hall and John Oates (aka Hall & Oates) have confirmed a short UK tour this July.

Returning to the UK after an absence of nearly ten years, the announcement of a tour adds to an already-strong 2014 for the duo, who have recently been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

With the timing of the first show 6th July appearing incredibly close to Somerset’s Glastonbury Festival, rumours have started to surface regarding the possibility of an appearance by the two stars at the event.

The legendary duo begin their tour at the beginning of July in Nottingham and appear at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo before finishing the tour in Birmingham.

Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday (24th January) direct from Ticketmaster UK. Click here for more information; the full tour dates are as follows:

Whilst the world thought Lorde’s unique gothic talent was a one-off, it seems we’re mistaken, as the Kiwi-born global superstar’s younger sister India is readying her own musical onslaught.

Taking to her official Soundcloud page earlier yesterday, India unveiled her cover of A Great big World’s duet with Christina Aguilera for Say Something.

Whilst the recording isn’t of ‘studio quality’, the rawness of this young 14 year-old is already shining through. Take a listen below:

Jessie J teases new song on Instagram

Jessie J has recorded a new short clip for her Instagram account, teasing a brand new track.

The star, who announced her departure as the support act for Robin Thicke’s US tour earlier this month, is said to be back in the studio to record new material for the US release of her second album Alive.

Teasing that the album will boast an ‘all new sound’, we’re hopeful that, should this track be one of the cuts from a third LP, Jessie will be reversing back to her roots of her widely-successful debut Who You Are, after many fans expressed disappointment in the follow-up.

Damon Albarn confirmed as Latitude Festival headliner

After unveiling the full-length visual to his new single Everyday Robots earlier today, organisers of this year’s Latitude Festival have confirmed that Damon Albarn is to appear as the second headliner for the 4-day event this summer.

Albarn’s inclusion to Latitude Festival, which takes place 17th-20th July in Suffolk, means the Blur frontman will join the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, HAIM, Booker T and more, with a further 400 acts still to be announced.

World premiere: Ellie Goulding – ‘Goodness Gracious’ (The Chainsmokers Remix)

Our good NYC friends The Chainsmokers have put their magical spin on Ellie Goulding’s latest release, Goodness Gracious.

Whilst we’re not a fan of EDM as a genre in itself, The Chainsmokers’ edit is a wonderful slice of how, when executed well, Electronic Dance Music really can make you feel great.

Video premiere: Damon Albarn – ‘Everyday Robots’

After teasing us with details of his forthcoming solo album Everyday Robots, Blur frontman Damon Albarn has premiered the LP’s first official single along with associated video.

The track, which takes the same Everyday Robots name as the album’s title, feels almost a fusion of Albarn’s Gorillaz/Blur days, with the end result being one of sheer beauty.
