Glastonbury 2019 ticket resale dates announced

Those who missed out in the initial October ticket stampede for this summer’s Glastonbury Festival will have another stab at trying, with organisers announcing the date for the final batch of resale tickets.

Set to take place across two dates – Thursday 25th April (for coach packages) and Sunday 28th April (general admission) – the amount of available tickets will align with those that are returned into the horde when the ticket balance window closes on Sunday 7th April.

Though onsale times are yet to be confirmed, the resale will likely follow that of previous years, with coach passes available from 6pm, and GA tickets available from 9am on the Sunday.

Currently only three main acts have been announced for when Glastonbury returns in June – Pyramid Stage headliner Stormzy, West Holts headliner Janelle Monáe and Sunday Afternoon Legends Slot headliner, Kylie Minogue.

Earlier this week, festival curator Emily Eavis confirmed that The Prodigy had been booked to play this summer, though have since cancelled following the tragic passing of frontman Keith Flint.

Expect further line-up teasers to be revealed over the coming months.

Following a handful of teasers (including his notable collaborations with The Weeknd and Pharrell), Gesaffelstein’s anticipated sophomore album ‘Hyperion’ has now arrived.

Featuring a further 8 new songs, one of the standouts comes courtesy of a tie-up with HAIM, where the sisterly trio deliver a more subdued, haunting cut, totally at a polar opposite of their own studio work.

Legendary UK producer and DJ Paul Woolford has unveiled the new club-ready D-Mix of his forthcoming single ‘You Already Know’.

Coming ahead of the song’s original edit, which lands on 5th April, the new rework earns the accolade as the 400th release on the iconic Positiva Records imprint, and follows the label’s 25th-anniversary celebrations which took place last year.

The Chemical Brothers have shared the latest preview of their forthcoming ‘No Geography’ LP, dropping ‘We’ve Got To Try’ as not only the record’s latest single, but also confirmed as the soundtrack to the upcoming 2019 Formula 1 season.

Sharing the track’s visuals earlier today, the gripping new clip (directed by Ninian Doff, the mastermind behind the Chemicals’ video for ‘Sometimes I Feel So Deserted’) tells the story of an abandoned dog, ‘Girl’, plucked from the street and in a classic rags-to-riches story embarks on an intrepid journey of self-discovery. Through sheer force of will, she rises through the ranks of motorsport, and much, much more…

Solange has dropped off a pair of new videos for ‘Way To The Show’ and ‘Almeda’, two of the catchiest songs from her surprise album ‘When I Get Home’.

Released last week (1st March), ‘When I Get Home’ is the follow-up to 2016’s ‘A Seat At The Table’, which saw the singer team up with the likes of Kaytranada, Raphael Saadiq, Sampha and Q-Tip.

Lion Babe have teamed up with Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon for their new single ‘Western World’.

Premiered on Ebro Darden’s radio show on Apple’s Beats 1, the track hears a nifty sample from The Pet Shop Boys’ classic ‘West End Girls’, and comes ahead of the NYC duo’s upcoming new album ‘Cosmic Wind’, due out later this month.

Over 70 new acts added to 2019’s Reading & Leeds Festival line-up

Over 70 acts have been added to the line-up for 2019’s Reading and Leeds Festival, joining the previously announced headliners The 1975, Post Malone, Twenty One Pilots, and Foo Fighters.

Featuring the likes of Dave, who will headline the BBC Radio One Stage, additional names include King Princess, Machine Gun Kelly and Roddy Ricch.

DJ Dillon Francis will also take to the BBC Radio One Dance Stage, alongside the newly announced Dimension and Jaguar Skills. Meanwhile, US rapper Ghostemane will headline The Pit Stage, with Of Mice & Men, PUP, Blood Youth, Hot Milk and Fidlar also joining the stage’s line-up.

Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers will headline the Festival Republic Stage, his first appearance at Reading & Leeds. Basement will also take to the stage, as will English dream pop outfit Anteros.

Dappy will headline the BBC 1Xtra Stage, topping a line-up that also features South London rapper Loski and grime star Tion Wayne.

Listen: SOAK drops off new single ‘Déjà Vu’

SOAK has shared ‘Déjà Vu’, the third single from her forthcoming album ‘Grim Town’.

Set for release via Rough Trade on 26th April, the album succeeds the Northern Irish artist’s Mercury Prize-nominated 2016 debut ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream’, with ‘Deja Vu’ itself following on from the project’s lead track ‘Everybody Loves You’, which landed toward the tail-end of last year.

Little Simz announces 2019 UK tour

Little Simz has announced plans to embark on a headline UK tour later this year, following the release of her excellent new album, ‘Grey Area’.

Set to act as a conclusion to her various festival stints (which will see the Londoner make appearances at All Points East, Boomtown and Parklife), Simz’s October dates will see her perform shows in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Brisol and London.

Vampire Weekend share two new songs; confirm album release-date

Vampire Weekend have shared a further preview of ‘Father of the Bride’, the group’s first new album in more than six years.

Dropping two new songs ‘Sunflower’ (ft The Internet’s Steve Lacy) alongside ‘Big Blue’, both tracks follow on from January’s ‘Harmony Hall‘ and ‘2021’. Though a tracklisting is still TBC, we do know that ‘Father Of The Bride’ will consist of 14 further tracks, and will land on 3rd May. Additionally, Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig has confirmed that a ‘Sunflower’ video is on its way, featuring Jonah Hill as director.
