Glastonbury Festival organisers have confirmed previous press reports that Janet Jackson will finally be hitting up Worthy Farm later this year.
Set to make her debut Glastonbury appearance when the festival returns after its one-year break, Jackson’s show will mark her first UK performance in over eight years; she is currently gearing up for the final leg of her ‘State of the World’ tour, which will conclude in Japan on 11th February.
Her addition to the roster comes off the back of the first-wave line-up announcement from Glastonbury officials, which also saw The Killers and The Cure announced as final headliners, alongside new additions including Lauryn Hill, Shura, Slow Thai and more.
After leading the rumour mill over the past few months, The Cure have finally been announced as headliners for this summer’s Glastonbury Festival.
Revealed earlier today, the group’s return to Glastonbury adds further support to their 40th-anniversary tour, where they’ll be playing a host of additional festivals across Europe (including Belgium’s Rock Werchter and Serbia’s EXIT Festival). They will close out the Pyramid Stage on Sunday 30th June.
Last April, frontman Robert Smith spoke with 6 Music’s Matt Everitt on the prospects of returning to Glastonbury, describing their rocky relationship saying “Yeah, maybe. We haven’t had a happy history with Glastonbury over the years…. we’ve never been on the best of terms. I don’t know if they forgive and forget. There are enough other festivals for us to play.”
2019 marks The Cure’s fourth time headlining Glastonbury; their last stint was back in 1995, having previously also played in 1990 and 1986.
The first wave line-up for 2019’s Glastonbury Festival has been revealed, as ticket buyers gear up for next month’s deposit deadline.
Featuring previously-announced appearances from Stormzy, Kylie Minogue and Janelle Monae, Glastonbury 2019 will also see performances from the likes of Janet Jackson, Liam Gallagher, Vampire Weekend and Lauryn Hill. The Killers and The Cure will headline on the Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Historically, Glastonbury organisers have chosen the pre-deposit period to provide a glimpse of some of the featured acts; a further line-up announcement is expected to land just prior to Glastonbury’s return on 26th June, where over 3,000 artists will descend on Worthy Farm.
UPDATE: An revised line-up has now been shared with the addition of Slow Thai on the roster.
Maverick Sabre has shared his new single ‘Into Nirvana’, the latest track to be lifted from his upcoming album ‘When I Wake Up’.
Set to drop next week (March 22nd), ‘When I Wake Up’ follows the soul singer’s 2015 record ‘Innerstanding’, and comes ahead of his forthcoming UK tour which will see him play a wealth of shows throughout April.

Vampire Weekend have shared their new video for ‘Sunflower‘.
Directed by Jonah Hill and filmed at locations on New York’s Upper West Side including Zabar’s and Barney Greengrass, the clip sees appearances from Vampire Weeknd’s Ezra Koenig alongside the track’s collaborator Steve Lacy. Cameos come from Jerry Seinfeld and Fab 5 Freddy.
‘Sunflower’ is half of the second pair of songs to be released in advance of Vampire Weekend’s forthcoming album ‘Father of the Bride’, which lands in May, and comes ahead of the bands upcoming UK shows where they will play intimate sets at London’s EartH on 21st March, and Islington Assembly Hall on 23rd and 24th March. Labrinth, Sia and Diplo have shared their new collaborative single ‘No New Friends’ ahead of the release of their upcoming debut album as a supergroup, which lands next month.
The playful new song, which falls under their LSD moniker, hears both Sia and Labrinth go head-to-head on vocal duties, whilst Diplo’s bouncy beats underpin to make this one heck of a fun joint.
‘No New Friends’ will join previous releases ‘Genius’, ‘Audio’ and ‘Thunderclouds’ on the upcoming LSD album, imaginatively-titled ‘Labrinth, Sia and Diplo present… LSD’.
Set to mark a preview of her anticipated second studio album, the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Nothing Real’, the electronic musician has also confirmed two forthcoming headline show, keeping close to the song’s title with appearances in Brooklyn and London.
Set to hit Camden’s Roundhouse on 14th November, ‘BKLYNLDN’ marks the start of a new chapter (musically, geographically, emotionally) for Shura. That timeless look at long-distance romantic longing – if told through the modern lens of apps, texts, and anxiety-inducing silences – it’s a cinematic, exquisitely intimate examination of what presence and absence means in modern relationships; a passionate, tactile record about connection in volatile times; and, despite its cleansed sonic palette, still the unmistakable sound of Shura.
Describing her new music for the first time today, Shura writes “with ‘BKLYNLDN’ I wanted to explore having both a sonic & lyrical evolution. It’s about desire – playing with the idea of it being all consuming and at times overwhelming. It starts with the immediacy of physical desire – ‘this isn’t love’ and yet as the song unfolds that sentiment begins to unravel; I am clearly in love and instead of my girlfriend coming to London, I end up moving Brooklyn. I wanted to capture that reversal and for me that section feels like my summer, skipping through Brooklyn, holding hands with my girlfriend and singing out loud without caring about how stupid you look.”

Labrinth, Sia, and Diplo have announced the release-date of their long-anticipated debut album under their new LSD supergroup moniker.
Originally expected to land late last year, the record (which will be titled ‘Labrinth, Sia & Diplo Present… LSD’) will now drop on 12th April, and comes off the back of a hugely-successful run of singles, including ‘Genius‘ and ‘Thunderclouds‘.
Announcing the news on all their Instagram accounts earlier today, Labrinth said “Been a long time coming with the squad. @labrinth, @siamusic and @diplo present… #LSD. Album out 4/12”, with Diplo adding “I got to make an album with my favorite musicians”.

The instantly-catchy track, which comes complete with an equally-as-brilliant video, comes ahead of the artist’s forthcoming debut album ‘We Need To Talk’, which lands next month, and whilst you may not recognise her name at first, you’re likely to already be well-acquainted with her work.
