Audio: Bonzai – ‘I Did’

0

Those who have been closely following the footsteps of Mura Masa over the past couple of years would be hard-pressed to have avoided Bonzai. A frequent collaborator with Mura, the Dublin-raised singer-songwriter has been jamming things pretty impressively with her own solo work lately (you only need to take a listen to Noise from last year’s ‘Royah’ EP to hear how solid her executions can be), and today she returns to Annie Mac’s Hottest Record hotseat with I Did, the lead track from her forthcoming project Lunacy.

Grab a listen to this one in full below – in terms of keeping it in the family, Bonzai’s set to support Mura Masa on his forthcoming tour (including his headline show at Shepherds Bush Empire tomorrow), whilst also hitting the Tobacco Dock stage at the London stint of Annie Mac’s All Day Raves this coming weekend.

Video: Gallant – ‘Skipping Stones’ (feat. Jhené Aiko)

Back in February, Gallant shared Skipping Stones, his surprise collaboration with Jhene Aiko and a track which further circumvented hype around his debut full-length record Ology.

Today, equally as surprisingly, the young soul singer has shared the track’s smooth new visual, featuring a cameo role from Jhene herself.

Video: The Weeknd – ‘Starboy’ (ft Daft Punk)

0

Last Wednesday, The Weeknd surprised fans by sharing some all-new music, hooking up with Daft Punk for the title-track to his upcoming album Starboy – today, the Canadian has shared the song’s official visual, and it’s as moody (and as breathtaking) as one would assume.

Catch the full Starboy video below; we wouldn’t be surprised if some Coachella/Glastonbury rumours started rearing their heads soon either:

**UPDATE** Starboy [the album] will feature 18 tracks, and will officially be released on 25th November – preorders are available now over on iTunes:

Video: Watch Little Simz travel to South Africa in new documentary

0

First experiencing South Africa on set for the music video of her breakthrough hit ‘Gratitude’, Little Simz returned this summer to explore the Johannesburg music scene, hooking up with Noisey for the second instalment of their Nando’s Music Exchange partnership.

The ten-minute documentary, which you can watch in full below, sees Simz return to South Africa to meet Gigi Lamayne, exploring how musical culture differs, yet shows multiple sides of similarities, whilst also seeing how both the grime and hip-hop scenes seem to be uniting audiences far away from home turf.

Of her role within the documentary, Little Simz says “It’s amazing how music transcends languages, race and culture. Going to South Africa as part of Nando’s Music Exchange, exploring the streets, meeting incredible talent, and seeing first-hand how local music is looking beyond the West to create its own unique sounds and subgenres, is definitely exciting to witness.”

Audio: Flume – ‘Lose It’ (ft Vic Mensa) (Naderi Remix)

“When I heard this song I lost my shit and instantly wanted to put my touch on it” says Iranian-born producer Naderi when describing Flume’s Lose It, his recent Vic Mensa collaboration lifted off his sophomore Skin record.

Now synonymous with the Australian dance scene alongside his aforementioned cohort (or what some may say protege), Naderi’s work with Flume goes deeper than just a remix. Having already been involved behind-the-scenes with What So Not, Nicole Millar and GRMM, among others, the Australian initially started working with Flume when the latter was merely 14 years old. Since then, we’ve all witnessed Flume grow from a shadowy remixer to a global dance phenomenon.

Back to Naderi though… essentially if his Lose It edit (which you can hear below) is your first exposure to his work, then we’d highly suggest you head over to his SoundCloud straight away – we’ve been saying for a couple of years now at how much the Australian scene is shaping global futuretronica, and it looks like Naderi could well be a key cog in that front.

Watch the trailer for Justin Timberlake’s ’20/20 Experience’ Netflix documentary

0

Back in 2013, Justin Timberlake announced his return to the scene after a 7-year hiatus with his double release, The 20/20 Experience. Accompanied by a 134-date world tour, Timberlake’s shows saw him cover a gruelling two-year schedule, alongside his newly-formed band The The Tennessee Kids.

Fast forward to 2016, and next month will see the premiere of the Netflix-commissioned Justin Timberlake And The Tennessee Kids, a docu-movie which follows Timberlake and his 25-piece band end the tour at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas.

The film lands as a Netflix exclusive on 12th October, however you can watch the newly-released trailer below:
