Glastonbury’s Croissant Neuf announces 2019 line-up

Organisers of Glastonbury’s solar-powered Croissant Neuf field have detailed their 2019 lineup, and once again showcases the area’s strive for its clean-up and environmental credentials.

Set to span the full five days of this year’s Glastonbury, the Croissant Neuf infamous Bandstand will host new talents on a daily basis, featuring students from the Bristol Institute of Modern Music. Open mic slots will continue throughout the day too ahead of main-stages kicking off on the Friday.

The Croissant Neuf Big Top will also be returning this year with a wealth of local bands and will run from Thursday through to Glastonbury’s close on Sunday 30th June.

Hear Kasabian’s Serge connect with Little Simz for ‘Favourites’

Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno has announced his new solo project, The S.L.P., whilst hooking up with Little Simz for ‘Favourites’, the first song from his newly-formed outfit.

Premiered as Annie Mac’s latest Hottest Record, Serge’s new foray comes after a year of absorbing new sounds away from Kasabian’s rock heritage. Last year, he revealed he was enjoying time exploring other sonics – “I’m just collecting and enjoying not having any plans at the moment,. Just listening. Just seeing what’s out in the world. Sometimes it’s nice just to listen and not say anything. The world at the moment is a pretty slippery character, and everything is moving at a pace that’s never been seen before. I’m just enjoying getting back into listening to music. Back in the day I would dig for beats, now I sort of dig for hooks and ideas. I’ll flick through streams and think: ‘I like that 10 seconds’ and record it, and accumulate them, so now I have this library of things.”

Hear Franky Wah’s UKG-tinged ‘Words’

Yorkshire-based DJ and producer Franky Wah has unveiled his latest track ‘Words’.

Out now via Ministry, the UKG-tinged cut follows on from Wah’s recent ‘Get Me High’ which climbed to #2 on the Beatport Top 100 earlier this year.

“I was genre-hopping and heavily-influenced by trance music at school and then when I came back to full-time producing it was the vibe that got me into it,” says the producer, citing Chicane’s classic ‘Saltwater’ as inspiration.

Watch Björk’s surprise new video for ‘Tabula Rasa’

Björk has shared her surprise new video for ‘Tabula Rasa’.

Originally falling part of the Icelandic singer’s 2017 album ‘Utopia’, the visual, directed by digital artist Tobias Gremmler, sees Björk’s face superimposed within a colorful, shifting mass. Describing the concept of the clip, Gremmler says “When creating the video, I was deeply inspired by the music and lyrics of Tabula Rasa. The visual transformation of Björkinto faun-like flowers and mountainous landscapes embodies the utopian concept of a harmonious coexistence between nature and human based on empathy.”

Listen: SG Lewis shares new song ‘Flames’ (ft Ruel)

SG Lewis has shared his new single ‘Flames’.

Featuring 16 year old Australian breakthrough artist Ruel, ‘Flames’ is the latest single to be lifted off ‘Dawn’, the third and final chapter of the producer’s three-part concept album ‘Dusk, Dark, Dawn’.

The new song also aligns with the announcement of Lewis’ biggest headline show to-date, where he’ll play London’s Brixton Academy on 1st February 2020. (Click here for tickets). Last week, SG was also confirmed to return to Glastonbury Festival this summer where he’ll play the Glade stage.

Of his new song, the producer said “I was put onto Ruel’s music about 18th months ago, and watching his growth since then has been amazing. He’s got such soul to his voice for someone of his age, it’s crazy. Flames is the final preview of Dawn before the whole thing drops, and I can’t wait to share the whole thing.”/

Kim and Kanye welcome fourth child

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have become parents for the fourth time, adding to their family with a new baby boy.

Though the name of their latest addition is to be revealed, Kim confirmed the news moments ago, tweeting “He’s here and he’s perfect”.

According to TMZ, both Kim and Kanye were present during the birth when their surrogate went into labour in the early hours of 10th May.

The new baby will join the West’s ever-expanding family, consisting North, Saint and third child Chicago who was born last January.

The Specials to headline 2019’s Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza

The Specials have been announced as headliners for 2019’s edition of the Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza.

Run by Glastonbury’s Michael Eavis for well over two decades, the annual party will follow six weeks on from this year’s Glastonbury Festival, and will take place in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey on 3rd August. The appearance of The Specials comes off the back of their latest album, ‘Encore’, debuting at No.1 in the Official UK Album Charts.

Tickets are available now, starting from £35 for adults. Tickets for children under 16 start from £20. Like previous years, camping is sold on a first-come-first-served basis. Check here for more details.

Hear Gorgon City, Kaskade and ROMÉO collaborate for ‘Go Slow’

Gorgon City have teamed up with Kaskade for their thumping new single ‘Go Slow’.

Featuring vocals from newcomer ROMÉO, the partnership came to fruition after a fan tweeted to suggest a collaboration between them. Less than a month later, and after connecting at an LA studio to record the track, ‘Go Slow’ was born.
