Following some strong internet sleuthing by a Reddit user earlier in the week, The xx have officially announced their new album I See You.
The project, the trio’s third studio full-lengther, will arrive on 13th January, and has been described as “more outward-looking, open and expansive”.
Alongside the reveal, the band have also shared their new Hall & Oates-sampling track, On Hold.

Shakka has unveiled his brand new project The Island, following the recent release of his Mr Vegas-featuring lead single I Love The Way.
Featuring additional collaborations with Wretch 32 and Giggs, the five-track collection is Shakka’s first main studio outing since last year’s phenomenal Lost Boys EP, which spawned the excellent Say Nada.

The terrible plight of refugees hasn’t gone unnoticed over the past year or so, and today a special event has been announced by the music industry seeking to help not only build awareness of the millions of people displaced worldwide, but also raise money to ensure many of these survive the upcoming winter months.
Revealed moments ago, Faithless, Sigma, Eats Everything, Chase and Status, Skream, Sky FX and more have come together for ‘Rave For Refugees’, a nationwide initiative encouraging people to host their own nights to raise money to help refugees.
Set to cover two dates at London’s Electric Brixton, Faithless will kick precedings off, alongside Skream, Eats Everything, Daphni and Jon Hopkins on 8th December. Meanwhile Chase & Status, Rudimental, Sigma and Shy FX will hit the stage one week later on Thursday 15th December. Further acts are also expected to be announced prior to the shows.
“We are incredibly proud to be supporting the charity Help Refugees in their formidable effort to help the plight of thousands of refugees around the world” said Chase and Status of the cause, adding “Rave For Refugees is an amazing chance for the music industry to come together and support a much needed cause through two amazing club nights.”
Rave For Refugees will also mark the first time many of these acts will perform DJ sets together, so expect the nights to be even more special.

We Are FSTVL organisers have announced the first wave of their 2017 plans as the annual party looks to celebrate its fifth birthday.
Returning to Upminster on the 27/28th May Bank Holiday weekend, the first line-up features over 150 artists spanning 20 different stages, including Basement Jaxx, Kurupt FM, Duke Dumont and Wiley. From a stage perspective, both UKF and Defected/Glitterbox will be running their own set-ups once again, whilst 2017 will also see a welcome return from Hospitality Records too.
2017’s We Are FSTVL will also see the addition of camping for the first time in the festival’s history.

Over the past few days, The xx have shared teaser snippets of some new music nestled within their ‘In The Studio’ Spotify playlist, and it’s likely we’ll be hearing some full tracks toward the end of this week.
On today’s Radio 1 evening show, Annie Mac revealed that the trio will be star guests in a special Maida Vale performance on Thursday, which will feature an interview alongside a performance. Whether that includes new music remains to be seen, however Reddit user ‘Days Of Candy’ seems to have unearthed The xx’s anticipated new album prior to any kind of official announcement.
In a piece of exemplary detective work, the user wrote:
Okay, so when I Annie Mac tweeted today that The xx were going to perform live and get interviewed later this week on her show, I got pretty excited. And considering that they have dropped 3 new snippets in such a short amount of time, I knew something was up. I searched some sites and unfortunately got nothing, but then I decided to check Shazam and well, I think I have some news for you. I remember searching it before around the time they announced their South American tour, and then again when they announced their European tour (side note: I’m bummed that their show in Warsaw got sold out before I managed to grab a ticket), but nothing new came up then. And today I found 12 new titles, all tagged under an album called I See You (had to check it on my mobile to see it, here are 2 screenshots). And before you assume it’s fake, let me remind you that the titles from the new The Avalanches, Japandroids, Sampha (also signed to Young Turks), etc. records have all appeared there before. SOHN has announced his long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s Tremors by sharing Conrad, the lead single from his upcoming album Rennen.
Revealed as Annie Mac’s latest ‘Hottest Record’, the Vienna-based songwriter revealed that his sophomre album will land in January, followed by an expansive European and US tour, including a headline show at Electric Brixton on 1st March.

This afternoon, eagle-eyed Twitter users would have noticed Chase and Status, Sigma, ShyFX and Faithless all tease a series of intimate gigs, all pointing toward “staying tuned for details”.
Earlier today, we reported of Faithless first kicking things off with a set on 8th December, however now the other three acts have each teased their own sets on the same night one week later, 15th December.
Bar the two dates, all we know so far is the similar theme of the events (thanks to the type-face and imaging), and a uniform message running throughout – “Stay tuned for details of a very special & intimate London showcase that we will be announcing in the coming days. Tickets will be extremely limited for this one”.
Becky Hill has announced her first headline show of 2017, less than a week after her sold-out gig at London’s Electrowerkz.
Set to hit the legendary Scala on April 5th, the announcement aligns with the recent success of the Shift K3Y-produced Warm.
