Glastonbury 2017: Foo Fighters confirmed to headline

The Foo Fighters have been confirmed to headline 2017’s Glastonbury Festival, following a huge amount of building anticipation throughout the week.

Originally set to open Glastonbury back in 2015, the band were forced to cancel their set, alongside reschedule other UK shows after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg during a stint in Sweden; they were replaced on the Pyramid Stage by Florence & The Machine.

Announced moments ago during their ‘surprise’ initimate show at Frome’s Cheese And Grain, the Foos will play Glastonbury 2017 on Saturday 24th June, and join Radiohead as the second headline act to be announced. The Sunday headliner (25th June) has yet to be revealed, though strongly rumoured to be capped by Ed Sheeran.

It’s finally here!

After shitloads of rumour-milling and teasing, Foo Fighters are all-set to kick off their intimate set at Somerset’s Cheese and Grain venue, an event in which they’re widely-rumoured to announce their headline slot at this summer’s Glastonbury Festival.

They’ve already updated their socials to a new logo (this time over a pyramid – if that’s not a clue, then what is?!), so now all that’s left to do is sit back and watch the whole event unfold.

Reading & Leeds Festival 2017: Eminem announced as final headliner

Eminem will join previously-announced Muse and Kasabian as the final headliner for this summer’s Reading and Leeds Festival, organisers have confirmed.

Set to return to the UK for his first major show since his Wembley dates back in 2014, Eminem’s addition to the August weekend also comes alongside a wealth of new names for the line-up including Flume, Migos, Becky Hill and Giggs.

Equally as exciting, HAIM will also make their UK return at this year’s R&L, widely-expected to preview material from their as-yet-untitled third studio album. Earlier this year, HAIM put a call out to Emily Eavis telling their desire to play at this year’s Glastonbury; if an appareance at Reading and Leeds is anything to start us up with, then fingers-crossed for more UK festival dates from the trio over the summer.

After being teased by Diplo a couple of weeks back, Major Lazer have now released their official remix of Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You.

Enlisting additional vocals from Kranium, Diplo’s crew keep Ed’s verses intact, with Nyla joining Sheeran on the bridge toward the chorus before Major Lazer’s signature twisted electronics come into full swing.

Let’s not beat around the bush here…. you’re a closeted Little Mix fan, and you know it. Just check out last night’s incredible opener from the 2017 BRIT Awards and then try and tell us they didn’t deserve the gong for Best British Single.

Of course, as a publication, we tend to focus on the more ‘specialist’ side of the music sphere, but when music and vocals sound this good, it’s hard to ignore. One thing’s for sure, Little Mix absolutely deserve to be one of Britain’s biggest music exports.
