Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Vic Mensa and Common are among the artists confirmed to perform at the Washington D.C. ‘March For Our Lives’ rally.
Organised by the survivors of the recent Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida, which left 17 dead, the rally, which is expected to take place within many major cities across the globe, will have a focus on three demands – a ban on assault weapons, a ban on high-capacity magazines and a limit on the amount of ammunition any one person can own.
Other artists, including Jennifer Hudson, Demi Lovato and Andra Day are also likely to appear, whilst Taylor Swift recently shared a post in support of the rally, saying “No one should have to go to school in fear of gun violence. Or to a nightclub. Or to a concert. Or to a movie theater. Or to their place of worship. I’ve made a donation to show my support for the students, for the March For Our Lives campaign, for everyone affected by these tragedies, and to support gun reform. I’m so moved by the Parkland High School students, faculty, by all families and friends of victims who have spoken out, trying to prevent this from happening again.”
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have also confirmed they will be taking part in the DC rally, with Kim tweeting “Landed in DC w North & Kanye. We stand in solidarity with the survivors of gun violence & students who are calling for action on common sense gun safety laws at #MarchForOurLives around the country”

With strong intentions, ‘March For Our Lives’ has come up against fierce opposition by those who feel such controls would be contrary to ‘the right to bear arms’, America’s Second Amendment.
Over 800 similar demonstrations are planned for today (24th March); protestors in Sydney have already marched through the streets carrying banners and placards, with over 500,000 expected to attend in the US alone.
