Hear Janelle Monáe and Grimes collaborate on ‘PYNK’

Janelle Monáe has enlisted Grimes for ‘PYNK’, the third track to be lifted off Janelle’s forthcoming record ‘Dirty Computer’. Having previously hooked up on 2015’s ‘Venus Fly’, the song quietly hit the web alongside an official video, described as “a brash celebration of creation. self love. sexuality. and pussy power! PYNK is the color that unites us all, for pink is the color found in the deepest and darkest nooks and crannies of humans everywhere…”

Beyonce’s Coachella set to be streamed across the globe

Coachella organisers have announced the return of their live stream, as the Californian festival gears up to open its doors later this week.

Confirming details of their full streaming programme earlier today, the festival will see both Beyonce and The Weeknd’s headline sets streamed online, with other notable performances from HAIM, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Jessie Ware, Chromeo, Jamiroquai, Alt-J and Vince Staples. Eminem’s set will not be streamed when he closes Coachella on Sunday night.

Coachella 2018 kicks off this coming Friday, 13th April, and runs across the full weekend. It will return the following weekend on 20-22nd April, with Beyonce headlining the Saturday nights across both schedules.

Rag’n’Bone Man to release new music for Record Store Day

Rag’n’Bone Man has announced plans to release new music for this year’s Record Store Day.

Announced following his appointment as 2018 RSD UK Ambassador, 21st April will see the BRIT Award winner share two new songs directly to vinyl – ‘Don’t Set The World On Fire’ and ‘George Has Got A Friend’.

“These songs don’t exist anywhere else. They’ve never been recorded before” he said of the news, adding “They’re not on the last album and they won’t be on the next one either.” The songs will be the first pieces of new music from Rag’n’Bone Man since last year’s acclaimed debut, ‘Human’.

The artist, real name Rory Graham, is not the only UK act set to share Record Store Day exclusives – Florence and the Machine are also widely-tipped to release the first track (‘Sky Full Of Song’) from their as-yet-untitled new album on that day too.

The Weeknd has shared a new short film detailing the creation of his recent EP, ‘My Dear Melancholy’.

Titled ‘He Was Never There’ (aligning with the name of the project’s fourth song, ‘I Was Never There’), the 6-minute movie features footage of Abel recording his new music, alongside audio pieces from the collection’s collaborators.

Arctic Monkeys announce September 2018 UK tour

Arctic Monkeys will follow on from their various festival stops throughout the summer with a full-scale UK and Ireland tour.

Set to open on 6th September in Manchester, the group will then travel across the country stopping at London, Sheffield, Dublin and Newcastle. Tickets are onsale now. The tour will also be in support of their recently announced new album ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’, due out next month.

50 Cent announces ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ UK anniversary tour

50 Cent has announced a three-date UK arena tour in celebration of the 15th anniversary of his debut album ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin’.

Set to hit Birmingham, London and Manchester in September, the shows will pay tribute to the album which launched 50 into the big-league thanks to tracks including ‘In Da Club’, ‘P.I.M.P’ and ’21 Questions’.

Hear Kali Uchis reunite with Gorillaz for ‘In My Dreams’

After lending her vocals to last year’s ‘Ticker Tape’ and ‘She’s My Collar’, both lifted off their groundbreaking ‘Humanz’ LP, Gorillaz have returned the favour to Kali Uchis, cropping up on her anticipated new record ‘Isolation’.

Listed on ‘In My Dreams’, the song hears Kali and Damon Albarn co-share writing credits, with Albarn also lending his vocal assistance alongside overall production too. Though nestled toward the end of ‘Isloation’, the track is one of the strongest on the project – an absolute head-nodder, complete with an 8-bit-led groove that showcases the best of both worlds.

Mikky Ekko has dropped his new single ‘What’s It Like Now’ ahead of this summer’s release of his sophomore album, ‘FAME’.

Cheerfully-upbeat, the song sounds like a moment of inner-funk rediscovery for the Nashville-based artist – “When we wrote ‘What’s It Like Now’, I remember really wanting to write something catchy and simple… but also a little gnarly and sarcastic” he says, adding “…Around that time I had to cut off a lot of people who wanted me to be something/someone I’m not. Going through that shit sucked, but it also made pretty good fuel for the fire.”
