Calvin Harris has shared his surprise new remix of Halsey’s ‘Alone’.
Lifted off last year’s ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’, the track was given another lease of life back in March with new verses from Big Sean and Stefflon Don; Calvin’s edit however takes things firmly to the dancefloor in a rework that’s full of confidence and focus.

It’s safe to say the music world lost a pioneer yesterday, when the sad news that Avicii had passed hit the web. At only 28 years old, the young producer absolutely paved the path for the global rise of EDM, and nothing supports his stamp on the scene more than his debut on Radio 1’s Essential Mix.
Featuring tracks spanning the likes of Pendulum, Axwell, Steve Angello and Tiesto (plus his own work too), the full two hour mix was recorded back in late-2010 when Avicii was just 21, and serves as a legacy staple to his memory.

Having spent the past year releasing their own solo projects, The Internet have announced their reformation with new music set to follow next week.
Revealing the news on Twitter, the LA-formed group confirmed that new song ‘ROLL! (Burbank Funk)’ will land during the week, alongside the track’s official video. **Update: The band have confirmed their new single will arrive on Friday 27th April**
The 5-piece took a short-term hiatus toward the end of 2016 after the success of their last album ‘Ego Death’ to concentrate on their own work. Since that time, Syd released the impeccable ‘Fin’, whilst 19 year-old Steve Lacy also shared his excellent ‘Steve Lacy’s Demo’. Matt Martians also upped the funk with his own project ‘The Drum Chord Theory’.

Kygo welcomed Ariana Grande as a surprise guest during his Coachella set last night, where she gave the world’s first live play of her new single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’.
Alongside the performance, Grande also sung Marvin Gaye’s ‘Sexual Healing’ – during Coachella’s first weekend the Norwegian DJ brought on Jamie Foxx to perform the same song.
Kygo’s performance also saw him pay a last-minute tribute to Avicii, who passed away hours earlier. “Today is a very sad day for music” he said, adding “Earlier today, I got the news that Avicii passed away, only 28 years old. Avicii was my biggest musical inspiration, and he was the reason I started making music. So I don’t think I would have been on the stage if it wasn’t for him. And I know he has inspired a million other producers out there.”

Sad breaking news has landed that Swedish DJ Avicii, real name Tim Berglund, has died. He was 28.
In a statement, his publicist said “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
Update: Sources within the Oman police say there is “no criminal suspicion” into Avicii’s death. According to Sky News, two post-mortems have been conducted, with authorities ruling out any form of foul play. “We absolutely confirmed that there is no criminal suspicion of death”.
Reactions have of course been flooding in from across the music spectrum and beyond, including some of Avicii’s many collaborators.

Reworked from what seems the ground-up, the WĆLVES remix utilises zippy uptempo chord patterns, led by a deep and soulful bassline. Lacing the mix with synth-focused jaunty hooks and electronica-inspired vocals, the interpretation offers a feel-good summer feel to the piece, with the reworking adopting sweeping melodic tones throughout.

Jorja Smith has finally announced details of her long-awaited debut album.
Titled ‘Lost & Found’, the project will be released on 8th June, and will feature previous songs ‘Teenage Fantasy’ and ‘Where Did I Go?’ among the 12-tracks included. Breakout single ‘Blue Lights’ will also appear.
Still with no sign of a record deal in place (her own choice), Smith has previously told Music Week that “labels are there for a reason, theyāve always been here and they always will be, I just donāt know what its like to be with a major label. I just like what Iām doing at the moment, itās going well, I donāt need to add anybody to my team. I donāt think I need to go to a label at the moment.”

Beyonce will reportedly ‘switch up a couple of things’ as she prepares for her second Coachella set this coming weekend.
In an interview with Variety, JoāArtis Mijo Ratti who served as one of Beyonce’s dancers at Week 1 of Coachella confirmed “Yeah, weāre switching up a couple things, so there could still be a wow factor,ā.
The interview, which can be read here, also goes behind the scenes at the immense amount of preparations that went into Beyonce’s show-stopping performance. “We did like 10-to-14 hour days. That was very similar to the Madonna situation and really coming to work fully prepared to dance. Some jobs you might chill ā craft services, read a book, hop on your phone ā for a couple hours, but not while we were there [with Beyonce]. We were getting put to use with ideas, fitting, wardrobe, video blocking. It could be really overwhelming, but luckily, it wasnāt my first rodeo.” said Mijo Ratti.
Beyonce’s first Coachella headline set saw surprise appearances from Jay-Z, Solange and also Destiny’s Child. There’s no word yet whether they will reappear for Weekend 2, however Coachella organisers have confirmed that her second set would not be live-streamed on YouTube.
