Sinead Harnett announces KOKO headline show

Sinead Harnett has announced her biggest ever solo show, when she hits up London’s KOKO for a special one-off date in October.

Set to grace the former Camden Palais on Friday 19th, the performance promises ‘special guests’ and will likely preview what’s to come from her anticipated debut album, expected to land later this year.

Earlier this month, Sinead released the sultry ‘Body‘, the Londoner’s first single since last year’s ‘Chapter One’ EP; meanwhile her Colours performance of the track has so far amassed over 1/2 million views in only a matter of weeks.

Wiley re-confirms release of ‘Godfather II’

After multiple delays, Wiley has confirmed his anticipated ‘Godfather II’ finally has a definitive release date.

Confirmed on Twitter earlier today, the follow-up to last year’s ‘Godfather’ will be released this coming Friday, 27th April. The JME-featuring ‘I Call The Shots’ will appear alongside a further 19 songs on the album.

Kanye West announces new Nas album & release date

It looks like June 2018 will now be known as Yeezy Month. Last week, Kanye West confirmed he had new music in the works – a solo album landing on 1st June, and a collaborative record with Kid Cudi dropping seven days later. However now more news has come to light, after Ye has announced he’s been producing Nas’ upcoming album, and will be released one week on from the Kid Cudi tie-up.

“I’m hand producing all the albums I tweeted about,” Kanye wrote on Twitter. “Been chopping samples from the sunken place. Pusha May 25th My album June 1st me and Cudi June 8th and Teyana June 22nd and oh yeah…Nas June 15th”.

New Kanye, Cudi and Nas all in one month? We don’t like to wish away time, but roll on June!

Florence & The Machine, Liam Gallagher to support The Rolling Stones UK tour

Liam Gallagher, Florence & The Machine and James Bay are among the acts confirmed to support The Rolling Stones’ upcoming UK stadium tour this summer.

The 8-date tour, which opens at the London Stadium next month, will see Florence and co join the likes of Richard Ashcroft, The Specials, Elbow and The Vaccines. Jagger and co will close the tour on 19th June with a final London date in Twickenham.

HAIM, Bruno Mars, Craig David confirmed for new Chic album

Disclosure, Craig David, HAIM and Bruno Mars are among the names confirmed to appear on Chic’s forthcoming album ‘It’s About Time’.

Originally scheduled for a 2015 release, though pushed back several times, the project will mark the disco pioneering group’s first full-length record in over 25 years, and according to frontman Nile Rodgers, will definitely appear at some point this year.

In a new interview with Pitchfork, Rodgers confirmed additional appearances from Jorja Smith, NAO, Ray BLK, Mura Masa and Anderson .Paak (among others). Describing the Bruno Mars-collaboration, Rodgers said “Anderson .Paak and I—we had a few days, and he was opening for [Bruno Mars] while he was in the UK….And Bruno was like, ‘Damn, I gotta stop by and hang with y’all.’ So we sat around telling great Prince stories and finally we got down, and Bruno came up with an idea and said, ‘Damn, I wonder why nobody’s done this.’ So we decided to get down and do it.”

The 1975 expected to release new music this week

This week looks to be an exciting one for fans of The 1975, following speculation the band are set to finally return to the music scene.

Yesterday, fan @its_anobrain tweeted the band’s manager Jamie Oborne with a picture of a lightning bolt from the UK post-heatwave storm, remarking the likeliness of the cover-art from the band’s last studio album ‘I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’.

On captioning “Evening, the iliwys era is still here”, Oborne then responded with “Yes for a few more days…”, teasing that the chapter from their second record will finally close, opening the way for more music.

The 1975’s third album, rumoured to be titled ‘Music For Cars’, is still apparently scheduled for a June 2018 release, with Oborne previously stating that new music was coming “really soon”. The band have not used their Twitter account publicly since last summer.
