Listen: Ben Khan announces debut album & shares new single ‘Ruby’

After announcing his return earlier this year, Ben Khan has finally given details of his anticipated (and long-awaited) debut album.

Set to arrive on 10th August, Ben’s self-titled project will feature 15 new songs, including April’s lead single ‘2000 Angels‘.

Describing the album, Khan says “I think the point of an artist is to show people a different side of things, to take different perceptions of life and present them back to you. Hopefully, this album will take you out of your reality for a bit and take it to the start of a fantasy place.”

The record will also feature ‘Ruby’, which Ben has shared in celebration today. Grab a listen below, and check the full tracklisting underneath:

Watch Mura Masa and Octavian’s new video for ‘Move Me’

Mura Masa has shared the official video for ‘Move Me‘, his new collaboration with London MC Octavian.

Though cited as a one-off song, the track is widely expected to give a previewed direction of the young producer’s upcoming second album (of which little is known); meanwhile the clip sees the duo join with the masses within a slickly-choreographed albeit spiralled look at inner-London life.

After debuting the song on the final episode of the latest season of BBC’s ‘Later… With Jools Holland’, Nile Rodgers and Chic have now revealed the studio recording of ‘Till The World Falls’.

Featuring a stellar guest list comprising Mura Masa, Vic Mensa and Cosha, the song marks Rodgers and co’s first taster of their upcoming album ‘It’s About Time’, their first full-length studio project in over 25 years. The track was also co-written alongside Anderson .Paak and NAO.

Becky Hill announces October 2018 UK tour

Becky Hill has announced plans to close off 2018 with a UK tour, as she gears up for next year’s release of her anticipated debut album.

Announced following the release of the video for her latest single ‘Sunrise In The East’, Becky will play seven shows in October, kicking off Glasgow’s Stereo on the 8th before concluding at London’s Brixton Electric just over a week later on 16th October. She will also travel throughout Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham and Bristol.

Florence + the Machine have premiered the video for ‘Big God’. lifted off their anticipated new album ‘High As Hope’.

Beautifully choreographed by Akram Khan (and Florence herself), the singer recently opened up about the concept behind the song – “‘Big God’ was written about that feeling when someone has not replied to your text, the modern phenomenon of ‘ghosting’ which is one of my favourite words but not my favourite feeling. I was describing it to someone and they said to me ‘you need a big god’, as if the need in me were so cavernous it would take something enormous to fill it. Probably something bigger than a text message. It’s always been a very physical song, I saw a dance piece in my head as I was writing it, so to co choreograph something with Akram Khan was a huge honour. Autumn de Wilde fully understood what I was trying to do. The power of the desire within the void. Left with yourself to rage and wonder. And really it is yourself you are raging against. Not the ghost.”

Hear Gorillaz and Snoop Dogg collaborate for ‘Hollywood’

Following its initial unveiling earlier this year, Gorillaz have revealed the studio recording of their new Snoop Dogg-collaboration ‘Hollywood’.

Also featuring acclaimed producer Jamie Principle, the track will join predecessors ‘Humility’, ‘Sorcererz‘ and ‘Fire Flies‘ on the forthcoming Gorillaz record ‘The Now Now’, out next month. The band will also play the entire album, live for the first time, this weekend in Tokyo in partnership with Boiler Room.

Hear Skepta and WizKid collaborate for ‘Bad Energy (Stay Far Away)’

Skepta and WizKid have teamed up for the mellow ‘Bad Energy (Stay Far Away)’.

Marking their first collaborative work since Skepta jumped on the remix front of Wiz’s Drake-featuring ‘Ojuelegba’ in 2014, the track is the third new song from Skep to land this year, and follows the Tottenham MC’s recent partnership with A$AP Rocky for ‘Praise The Lord’.

A gin festival is coming to Camp Bestival this summer!

Camp Bestival organisers have announced their own ‘festival within a festival’, following the reveal of a new gin-focused soiree taking place this summer.

Rob & Josie’s Gin Festival, organised by founders Rob and Josie Da Bank, is definitely not one for the kids. Featuring 50 different gins from across the globe, the event will also see the unveiling of Rob and Josie’s own craft elixir (which, according to the press release, contains more than a hint of flavours from Ibiza!).

Camp Bestival, which returns to Dorset’s Lulworth Castle next month, also comes complete with a stellar line-up, including headline performances from Orbital, Simple Minds and Basement Jaxx. Hear Migos’ demo of Beyonce & Jay-Z’s ‘Apeshit’

Following the surprise release of Jay-Z and Beyonce’s joint album ‘Everything Is Love’ over the weekend, a demo for the record’s second song ‘Apeshit’ has now surfaced online.

Revealed by HipHop-N-More, the draft is credited to Migos (though the version on ‘Everything Is Love’ is listed only with Offset and Quavo). Pharrell has also been confirmed as the track’s producer.

‘Everything Is Love’ was revealed as Beyonce and Jay-Z closed the London leg of their On The Road 2 tour, revealing the video for ‘Apeshit’ to a shocked crowd. Initially released as a TIDAL-exclusive, the project has now found its way onto other streaming platforms as of earlier today.

Florence and the Machine announce new single ‘Big God’

Florence and the Machine have announced ‘Big God’ as the second official single from their upcoming album ‘High As Hope’.

Featuring Jamie xx and Kamasi Washington, the track was revealed as Zane Lowe’s latest Beats 1 World Record and follows last month’s lead release, ‘Hunger.

‘High As Hope’, the band’s fourth studio album, was co-produced by Florence Welch alongside Emile Haynie who had previously worked with the group for three songs from 2016’s Final Fantasy XV soundtrack. Additional contributors on the record include Jamie xx, Kelsey Lu and Sample.
