Maribou State announce 2019 UK tour

Having sold-out their upcoming Roundhouse show in a matter of weeks, Maribou State have now announced an extension of their autumn 2018 UK tour, bringing them firmly into next year with a headline show at London’s Brixton Academy.

Set to hit the esteemed venue on 7th March, the duo have also revealed further shows across the country, including stops at Bristol’s O2 Academy and Manchester’s Albert Hall.

Maribou State’s new album ‘Kingdoms In Colour‘, released last Friday, is the band’s first full-length project since 2015’s breakthrough debut, ‘Portraits’. Inspired by the field recordings they made around the world while travelling and touring their last album, ‘Kingdoms In Colour’ has been described by the band as a “sonic collage”, drawing on ideas and sketches that were written and recorded in places in Asia, Australia, Morocco, America and beyond.

Performed as part of an exclusive session for BBC Radio 1 (which also saw the collective share live versions of ‘Happy Man’ and ‘Heavy, California’), the duo’s new rendition comes days ahead of the release of their anticipated second album ‘For Ever’, set to land this Friday, 14th September.

Lana Del Rey has released her new single ‘Mariners Apartment Complex’.

Delivered as a treat for her fans ahead of an all-new album (due to land next year), the song was premiered as Annie Mac’s latest Radio 1 ‘Hottest Record’, and comes coupled with accompanying visuals created in collaboration with her sister Chuck.

Lana has also confirmed another new song, ‘Venice Bitch’ will follow next Tuesday, 18th September. The track will also come alongside another Chuck-created video too.

Raleigh Ritchie shares new video for ‘Time in A Tree’

Raleigh Ritchie has revealed the video for his new song ‘Time In A Tree’, his first piece of new music since 2016’s ‘Mind the Gap’ EP.

Titled ‘Time In A Tree’, the track aligns with the artist’s recent announcement of his forthcoming full-scale UK tour.

Set to kick off in Manchester on 24th November, Ritchie (real name Jacob Anderson) will then travel across the country stopping in Birmingham, Brighton, London and Bristol. He will then conclude on 1st December at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms.

Mariah Carey announces new song ‘GTFO’; lands Thursday

Mariah Carey has finally confirmed new music, after sharing teaser images in the studio back in the summer.

Announcing her new song ‘GTFO’ on Twitter, the song follows recent reunions with Jermaine Dupri and Bobby Ross Avila; it’s currently unclear who produced the new song though.

Back in March, Mariah revealed more about her upcoming new album, the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse’. In an interview with V Magainze, the star said “there’s a different approach that I’m taking as an artist. I think it’s like a fresh start.” She continued to say that while most people see her as a diva, she sees herself as “a songwriter first, and then a singer. That’s what I love to do the most.”

Kokiri returns four months on from ‘Pyramids’, teaming up with Canadian vocalist Dragonette for the vibrant ‘Faith In Love’.

A track that’s likely to be a huge dancefloor staple as we zoom straight into autumnal clubland, ‘Faith In Love’ could well be counted as one of the Liverpudlian producer’s finest outputs.

“Sometimes as an artist, you find yourself listening to a vocal over and over, desperate to find some inspiration at 3am on the 46th listen. This wasn’t the case for ‘Faith In Love'” says Kokori, adding “as soon as I heard the vocal, I knew exactly how I wanted this track to sound. I wanted to create an ethereal feel to mirror the emotional context of the lyrics. I wanted the track to subtly build up in energy and then surprise the listener by having a drop that contradicts the delicacy of the lyrics.”

Lana Del Rey to release new song ‘Mariners Apartment Complex’ tonight

Lana Del Rey has announced her plans to release two new songs over the next week, following the recent cryptic teaser of ‘Mariners Apartment Complex’.

Set to be premiered as Annie Mac’s latest Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 tonight (12th September), ‘Mariners Apartment Complex’ comes as an offshoot of Lana’s recent recording sessions with Jack Antonoff, whilst a further song titled ‘Venice Bitch’ will debut next Tuesday, 18th September.

The singer is currently hard at work completing the follow-up to her 2017 album, ‘Lust For Life’ – the new record will reportedly land next year.
