After teasing new music on her socials over the past week, Sinead Harnett has returned, delivering a slice of uber-calming RnB with her new song ‘System’.
Produced by fellow-Londoner JD. Reid, ‘System’ hears Harnett describe the story of early love to a new significant other; if you’re a fan of some of En Vogue’s more chilled-out moments, this one’s for you.

The Shapeshifters have returned with their groovy ‘Try My Love (On For Size)’.
Featuring Teni Tinks, the track hears the house outfit reimagine Sharon Redd’s 1980 disco anthem of the same name, this time with added fresh horns, strings and new arrangements. Released via Defected, the track remains reverent to the label’s feel-good vibrancy, with the official video starring Teni upon a sunshiny rooftop scene as well as two skaters in various colour-bursting graffitied locations in London.

Justice have shared the latest visual from recent album ‘Woman Worldwide’, with the brutal ‘Love S.O.S.’.
Directed by Edouard Salier (who previously directed Justice’s ‘Civilization’, plus ‘Atlas Air’ and ‘Splitting The Atom’ for Massive Attack), the cinematic video is the story of a bodybuilder pole dancing in a cage in a bizarre, futuristic nightclub when everything abruptly goes off the rails.
Speaking about the video, Salier commented, “Xavier and Gaspard wanted ‘Love SOS’ to be sexy, strange and brutal. The song is sweaty and weeping; the visuals needed to illustrate this and to be as beautiful as they are disturbing. I wanted the spectator of the video to find themselves in the same voyeuristic position as the audience attending the show: first, to find ourselves fascinated by the performance of the pole dance, then surprised and hypnotized by its outcome.”

Au/Ra has shared her new single ‘Emoji’, fresh from her storming success with CamelPhat on ‘Panic Room‘.
Speaking about the modern-day struggles of dating in an emoji-obsessed virtual world, the singer says “Sometimes it’s easier and safer to stay living in a fantasy than face reality. Emoji to me, is about an online relationship/friendship where someone is afraid to show the other person who they really are – in fear of disappointing them and ruining the illusion. Or vice versa, where someone is afraid to find out who the other person is. It’s a lighthearted titled paired with a dark underlying message about today’s complicated world of texting and online communication.”

Mabel has shared the video for last month’s ‘One Shot‘.
Set as a taste of what’s to come from her anticipated debut album (the follow-up to last year’s ‘Ivy To Roses’ mixtape), the video’s reveal also aligns with Mabel announcing her biggest headline show to date at London’s Brixton Academy, as she closes out 2018 with a full-scale UK tour.

Ed Sheeran has announced more UK stadium shows for 2019 following his successful stint at Wembley earlier in the summer.
Set to perform four more shows next August, the new dates hold strong significance for the singer – he’ll play at Roundhay Park in Leeds on 16/17th August (less than an hour from where he was born in Halifax), whilst one week later Sheeran will then head to his home county of Suffolk for two shows at Ipswich’s Chantry Park. Tickets go onsale next Thursday, 27th September.
Alongside his Ipswich and Leeds appearances, Ed has also been revealed as the first headliner for next year’s Sziget Festival in Budapest.
Often touted as ‘Europe’s answer to Glastonbury’, Sziget 2019 will run under their ‘Revolution of Love’ theme when it returns between 7th-13th August – Sheeran will play on the festival’s opening day.

Avril Lavigne has shared her first piece of new music since 2015’s ‘Fly’ with her defiant new single, ‘Head Above Water’.
Announcing her comeback earlier in this month, Lavigne’s new song follows her recent experience in battling Lyme disease, which has in turn helped shape her future musical direction. “Those were the worst years of my life as I went through both physical and emotional battles,” she said… “I was able to turn that fight into music I’m really proud of. I wrote songs in my bed and on the couch and recorded there mostly as well. Words and lyrics that were so true to my experience came pouring out of me effortlessly.”
‘Head Above Water’ is therefore poignant as it discusses her struggle with Lymes; in a statement she wrote “I thought I was dying, and I had accepted that I was going to die… My mom laid with me in bed and held me. I felt like I was drowning. Under my breath, I prayed ‘God, please help to keep my head above the water.’ In that moment, the songwriting of this album began. It was like I tapped into something. It was a very spiritual experience. Lyrics flooded through me from that point on.”

Robyn has announced her long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s ‘Body Talk’, revealing her new album ‘Honey’ will land in October.
Set for release via her own Konichiwa imprint, the project will feature July’s lead single ‘Missing U‘, whilst also seeing contributions from Kindess’ Adam Bainbridge, Mr Tophat and long-term collaborator Klas Ålund.
Describing the new album, the Swedish singer says “I danced a lot when I was making it. I found a sensuality and a softness that I don’t think I was able to use in the same way before. Everything just became softer.”
