New UK girlband M.O. recently took to SBTV’s studios to record a cover Lauryn Hill’s classic ‘Everything Is Everything’. The session, a part of SBTV’s ‘Strings’ series, features UK rapper Lady Leshurr on the track made famous from Hill’s phenomenal ‘Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ album in the late-90s. The cover also features a lovely sample of Fugee’s hit ‘Fu-Gee-La’.

Out of the blue, Canadian rapper Drake has dropped a new track, ‘Girls Love Beyonce’.
The track, featuring James Fauntleroy, features a sample of Destiny’s Child classic ‘Say My Name’. Every single Drake track surprises me; his intelligent writing skills surpass no-other and for that his success is fully deserved.

UK four-piece EDM group Disclosure have confirmed the title and artwork of their debut album ‘Settle’. The album is schedule for release on 3rd June.
With recent cuts (including works of art with AlunaGeorge and Sam Smith), the album is fastly becoming one of the most eagerly awaited UK LPs of the year. I’m fairly certain their stint on pretty much every festival on the circuit this summer will help drive this one to the top of the charts.

Rocker Ozzy Osbourne has split from wife Sharon after 31 years of marriage, it has been reported.
According to reports, Ozzy’s celebrity wife Sharon was seen without her wedding ring whilst speaking to removal men who were loading her belongings into vans. After a rumoured short-term separation, the reality stars are now reported to have split longer term.
The news comes amidst the rocker’s reunion tour with Black Sabbath that starts this weekend in Australia and New Zealand.

British dubstep soul artist Alex Clare has teamed up with US R&B artist Kelis to add vocals on producer Don Diablo’s new cut ‘Give It All’.
Akin to some of Clare’s previous work, the track succumbs to an elextro-soul vibe, whilst the ‘Caught Out There’ songstress contemplates about what could happen if you only had 24 hours left to live.
Speaking of the track, Dutch producer Don Diablo said:
“The lyrics and the message of this song come from a special place, after a heavy year with loads of ups and downs, and I hope you guys feel this one. Big shoutout to “The Blind Club” for making this incredible video possible.”

The hype (or I suppose you could call it furore) amongst Jay-Z’s latest cut ‘Open Letter’ has made as much headline news as the purpose for what it was written. For those out the loop, Jay-Z penned the track as a response to the public outcry over his and wife Beyonce’s visit to Cuba for their wedding anniversary.
Artists have been starting to queue up to release their own version and/or response, and this one comes from non-other than smooth rapper Common. Check it out below; to me Common is probably one of the greatest story-tellers of all time; his spin on ‘Open Letter’ is just remarkable.

Warner Brothers Pictures has uploaded a sneak-peek trailer at the forthcoming sequel to Superman Returns, entitled ‘Man of Steel’.
Set to hit cinemas globally late this summer, the trailer, titled ‘You Are Not Alone’, centres around General Zod threatening Kal-El (Superman) ‘or else’. It’s a very short, distorted visual, but it does get appetites whetting!
