Monsieur Sheeran continues his quest for global domination without help of any backing band, this time performing his hit Lego House on last night’s The Ellen Show on US TV.

J. Cole Performs ‘Power Trip’ On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
J.Cole became the latest music heavyweight to perform on NBC’s Late Night With Jimmy Fallon show last night, taking to the stage with new single Power Trip.
Backed by Fallon’s house band The Roots, Cole performed with Miguel’s vocals on backing (though minus the crooner’s physical appearance). Power Trip is featured on the rapper’s forthcoming album Born Sinner, the follow-up to 2011’s Cole World, and is expected to drop on June 18th (brought forward to compete with Kanye West’s forthcoming studio album Yeezus).

Ciara premieres Nicki Minaj duet ‘I’m Out’
US artiste Ciara has unveiled her collaboration with Nicki Minaj, entitled I’m Out.
The uptempo trap track is clearly ready for the dancefloors and is set to appear on Ciara’s forthcoming self-titled new album.

Charli XCX performs haunting cover of Backstreet Boys’ ‘I Want It That Way’
British artist Charli XCX surprised fans yesterday by performing a fantastic haunting rendition of US group The Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way.
Whilst we’re not fans of the original here (sorry!), the interpretation, performed at Chicago’s Borderline goes down as one of our favourite covers of the year.

Warner Bros release new Superman: Man of Steel trailer
Warner Bros Pictures have released an updated trailer to the forthcoming eagerly-awaited moving Man Of Steel. The movie, the follow-up to 2006’s Superman Returns will centre around General Zod and his team’s appearance on earth, and is set to be one of the most anticipated motion pictures of the year.

Daft Punk hidden track ‘Horizon’ found in Japan special editions
Those who are already whetting their appetites for more Daft Punk’s since their new LP Random Access Memories may be in for a pleasant surprise.
Blog No BMP Limit have unearthed a hidden track featured on Japanese versions of the French duo’s latest album. The very ‘pretty’ Horizon sounds more Air-like than Daft Punk, but still a strong addition to the robot’s discography.

Pioneering producer Giorgio Moroder turns DJ for the night
Legendary producer Giorgio Moroder, widely known for his major influence on the global disco scene, played his first ever DJ set last night as part of Red Bull’s Music Academy series. The 73-year-old, who has shot to prominence again with his collaboration on Daft Punk’s latest album Random Access Memories, played a string of his previous hits, including Donna Summer’s I Feel Love and Hot Stuff, as well as his recent Daft Punk track, Giorgio by Moroder.

Empire Of The Sun wow crowds with live performance of ‘We Are The People’
Australian band Empire of the Sun took to the festival stage last night, wowing concert goers with some stellar performances. The set in Dallas was part of web publisher Yahoo!’s On The Road series, with the band following the performance of another Aussie group Gold Fields.
Known for their style of theatricalism (if that’s even a word?!), the group did not disappoint, bringing their unique blend of colour and dance to a packed crowd.

Canadian dance producer Jacques Greene has unveiled his new single On Your Side.
The track, which could undoubtedly end up being a strong contender for ‘The Sound of Summer’, was premiered earlier today on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show, and follows a progressive 4/4 beat. You’ll be hooked after just one play.
