Pharrell Williams has lifted the lid off his contribution to the soundtrack of the forthcoming motion picture ‘Despicable Me 2’. Clap-along track Happy harks back to sounds of the 60s, fused with a cool disco undertone.

Beyonce continues the onslaught of new music with The-Dream duet ‘Turnt’
No sooner had Beyonce released the full version of new track Grown Woman, does her new duet with US R&B star The-Dream surface online.
Turnt, taken from The-Dream’s new album IV Play, features a smooth trap beat, opening with Bey and slowly introducing rapper 2 Chainz.

Usher jumps on remix of Rocko’s ‘U.O.E.N.O’
With A$AP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa and Rick Ross all having previously appeared on different guises of Rocko’s hit U.O.E.N.O., it’s now time for Usher to jump on the bandwagon.
Gone are Usher’s dance-inspired release (thank god for that); here he returns with the smooth Confessions-esque stance which made us rave about the star in the first place.

Coachella 2014 dates announced
Organisers of US music festival Coachella have confirmed the dates of next year’s event, again taking place over two separate weekends:
Weekend 1 April 11-13th
Weekend 2 April 18-20th
Now let the rumour-mill begin on who’s playing (I’m sure the Daft Punk rumours will start straight away). Check out one fan’s eager wish-list posted a few weeks back.
Of course Stagedoor FM will be on hand to report any confirmed acts as and when.
Chris Brown releases snippet of duet with Aaliyah along with behind-the-scenes video shoot
After breaking the news by a Vine tweet last week, singer Chris Brown has released a longer snippet of his new track They Don’t Know featuring long-lost vocals by Aaliyah.

Skream releases new funky ‘May Mix’

Drake confirmed for Anchorman 2 cameo
Canadian rapper Drake has been spotted on-set at the filming of Anchorman: The Legend Continues, the follow-up to 2004’s cult movie Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, confirming rumours of a cameo appearance.
No word has been announced as to the role Drake is set to play in the heavily-anticipated sequel however no-doubt as more and more titbits of the movie leak, things will become clearer.
The appearance of Drake adds to the cameo list which also includes Nicole Kidman. There has been no confirmation whether Ben Stiller and Tim Robbins will reprise their roles in the sequel.
Todd Edwards remixes David Bowie, Daft Punk and Prince on BBC’s Essential Mix
Garage/4×4 pioneering producer Todd Edwards took to BBC’s Radio 1 yesterday to unveil his own 2-hour set for the station’s Essential Mix, and it was a cracker, with the infamous legend unveiling premieres of his remixes to David Bowie’s Let’s Dance, Disclosure’s White Noise and Jessie Ware’s No To Love to name but a few. He also debuted an exclusive ‘mashup’ of Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger with Prince’s Controversy as well as his own take on Sam Smith’s brilliant new single La La La.

Kanye West performs two new tracks on Saturday Night Live; announces new album ‘Yeezus’
After his global street-projection unveiling yesterday in 66 cities, Kanye West took to US show Saturday Night Live to perform two new tracks Black Skinhead and New Slaves.
The tracks are set to appear on West’s new album, expected to drop next month and now confirmed to be called Yeezus.

First listen: David Guetta remixes Empire Of The Sun’s ‘Alive’
One month after Australian band Empire Of The Sun released their comeback track Alive comes a fantastic remix by French DJ/producer David Guetta.
Whilst the original was fairly club-friendly, Guetta’s remix takes it fully to the dancefloor, remixing it with some really grimey electro! It’s brilliant.
