Lady Gaga unveils return to the charts with ‘Artpop’

US singer/songwriter Lady Gaga has confirmed her return to the charts, with new single and album – both titled Artpop.

Whilst the artist’s direction hasn’t been confirmed, it’s likely we’ll be hearing some material VERY shortly – the single is due for release on 19th August.

Meanwhile, eager fans can head over to iTunes on 1st September to pre-order the new album, expected to land 11th November.

The news follows the artist’s publicised abandonment of Twitter, removing all tweets post-February. She is a strange little one this Gaga…

We’ll update you once we hear any further word on Artpop.

There’s no stopping Laura Mvula at the moment. Fresh from her two massive appearances at Glastonbury (on both the Pyramid and The Park stages), the British soul singer/songwriter has unveiled a beautiful visual accompaniment to her new single She, taken from stellar album Sing To The Moon.

Reflex Rock With You Michael Jackson remix

Could this be the greatest Michael Jackson remix ever? We certainly think so.

British producer The Reflex has turned his attentions to Michael Jackson’s iconic hit Rock With You, taken from 1979 album Off The Wall. Utilising some funky disco riffs, akin to some current Daft Punk, the remix is simply divine. Unlike other remixes that surface, The Reflex’s rendition keeps the soulfulness of the original, whilst selecting specific stems, re-edits and then reworks to produce something so funky you’ll not want to stop dancing.

Mutya Keisha Siobhan have confirmed they are to play their first headline gig at London’s Scala on Thursday, August 1st.

The exciting announcement comes days after they debuted their highly-anticipated new single ‘Flatline’ to critical acclaim. Written by the girls and produced by Dev Hynes, ‘Flatline’ has already been streamed over 175,000 time online.

Described by Billboard as “one of the most immediately affecting pop singles of 2013”, The Guardian proclaims Mutya Keisha Siobhan’s “vocal ad-libs so on point everyone else might as well just give up”. Pitchfork adds that they “sound melancholy but powerful, and entirely, boldly un-self-conscious of Dev Hynes’ immaculate production.”

12 years since their last full show together, the original Sugababes promise fans a show not to be missed as they perform hits and brand new tracks alongside their live band.

Mutya Keisha Siobhan’s brand new single ‘Flatline’ is available to pre-order on iTunes now ahead of it’s September 1st release.

After sending the blogsphere into a frenzy last night, it turns out that the leaked Kanye West Black Skinhead may not actually be the real deal.

Taking to Twitter moments ago, the US rapper, whose latest album Yeezus has divided opinion, made the following statements:

True to West’s word, we’ve removed the video from the initial post; we’ll keep you updated once the ‘official’ one breaks.

Man-of-the-moment Robin Thicke took to Radio 1’s Live Lounge yesterday and picked an unusual one for his Live Lounge cover…. Icona Pop’s massive global smash I Love It.

Going down the whole husky-acoustic angle, the US R&B singer/songwriter performed a completely stripped-down version of the generally upbeat pop track.

If not one of their most career-defining releases, US band HAIM have had their lead track Falling covered by label-mates CHVRCHES.

The performance on last night’s BBC Radio 1 ‘Live Lounge Late’ places a VERY intriguing spin on the track. Whilst we’re massive fans of the original over her at Stagedoor, to us, nothing will ever beat the Duke Dumont remix (which you can hear here), released in April.
