Jay-Z unveils ‘Dead Presidents III’ lost track – unreleased

It’s been a mammoth 24-hours for new Jay-Z music, with the official release of his latest LP Magna Carta Holy Grail now available to all. But that’s not just it – in his first ever Twitter Q&A earlier today, the megastar rapper gave his blessing to Young Guru to unveil the full version of lost track Dead Presidents III (aka DP3).

Fans may have been aware that many moons ago, a snippet of the track surfaced online, however it was left as just that. This is pure vintage Jay-Z, and was recorded during the time of his American Gangster LP.

Kanye West releases ‘Black Skinhead’ video

Whilst Kanye West’s new LP Yeezus may not be up to everyone’s tastes, you can’t blame him for trying to push the boundaries of hip-hop to the extremes, and that includes the promotion of the album too. Away from what is generally considered to be industry norm, West used clever street projections and social teasing as the main way to drum up excitement, and it seemed to have worked, with global sales now well over the 1m-mark.

The release of this new video for album track Black Skinhead then follows that boundary-extremism, with a source of intriguing creativity. In this clearly ominous clip, an animated West is seen rapping ferociously onscreen across a black background. To put it bluntly, it’s shit – a really really shit excuse for a video. Whilst the rapper may feel that you can flip creativity on its head; utilising late-90s console graphics is not the way. There really doesn’t feel to be any substance to this clip – he would’ve done better just to release a lyric video and let that be that.

Essentially, it’s a half-arsed effort – even up-and-coming artists with very little in the way of funds to their name, produce better visual accompaniments than this.

In anticipation for the release of their debut album Body Music, British duo AlunaGeorge have unveiled single number ‘we’ve-lost-count’ in the shape of Bad Idea. The twosome, who have been making HUGE waves in the UK scene over the past 12 months (and quite rightly so if you ask us – we’re BIG fans), are whetting fan appetites for their new album, sneakily releasing titbit after titbit of new music prior to the July 29th release date.

New Music: Beyonce – ‘Part II – On The Run’ (solo version)

Now that Jay-Z’s latest masterpiece Magna Carta Holy Grail has been released to the masses, eagle-eyed Beyonce fans would’ve noticed a follow-up to their 2003 collaboration O3 Bonnie And Clyde on the LP. The track, showing a continued-theme on the title of Part II: On The Run, takes a different approach to the original – more subdued and subtle yet still fully effective.

This version, however, is sans Jigga-man, leaving Beyonce to take the helm as a full-track solo.

Ellie Goulding announces new single ‘Burn’

Everyone’s fan favourite Ellie Goulding has announced her new single Burn.

Originally written and recorded by Leona Lewis, the uptempo track is the first release from Goulding’s forthcoming Halcyon Days EP, featuring 10 new track, due for release 26th August. Burn is expected to be released on 18th August, just over a week before the EP’s arrival.

Tinie Tempah premiers new single Trampoline

Further to his sneak-peek video posted only last week, UK rapper/producer Tinie Tempah has unveiled his new single Trampoline to the masses.

Set to be taken from the star’s eagerly-awaited second album Demonstration (the follow-up to Tempah’s hugely successful debut Disc-Overy), Trampoline, which features 2 Chainz, furthers the rapper’s hunger for stretching the boundaries of beat-ideology to support the track with a combination of Diplo-esque trap and 80’s progression.

Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake unveil Holy Grail

Hip-hop behemoth Jay-Z has unveiled his duet with Justin Timberlake Holy Grail from his forthcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail. The track, the first release off the new LP, is JT/Jay-Z’s second commercial collaboration this year (with Jigga featuring on Timberlake’s Suit & Tie from the latter’s third studio The 20/20 Experience).

It’s highly likely that Holy Grail will be one of the lead tracks the twosome will be performing at this summer’s Legends of Summer tour, with the UK leg hitting British shores at Wireless festival on 14th July.

Magna Carta Holy Grail is released today (4th July) for owners of Samsung’s Galaxy Series of smartphones and tablets. The full release will be on July 7th.

Mutya Keisha Siobhan announce studio version of Flatline

Further to the 1:11 snippet released a couple of weeks back, original Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan (MKS) have unveiled the full version of their new single Flatline.

The track is the trio’s first label release since reforming under their new moniker in July 2012, and is their first official ‘original’ recording since 2000’s acclaimed One Touch.

The release of Flatline comes amid huge industry and fan excitement – take a listen to Flatline below and let us know your thoughts. Naughty Boy premiers new single ‘Lifted’, featuring Emeli Sandé

Continuing on from his monstrous success with Sam Smith on previous single La La La, London producer Naughty Boy has taken the lid off his follow-up, titled Lifted.

The track, featuring Emeli Sandé, is set to feature on the producer’s forthcoming debut album Hotel Cabana. For some, this might seem more of an apt follow-up to Sandé’s Heaven, also produced by Naughty Boy. Take a listen, I’m sure you’ll hear some similarities between the two!

British pop/hip-hop group Rizzle Kicks have aired the first play of their new single Lost Generation.

The track is the lead release off the duo’s forthcoming second album Roaring 20s, expected for release in september, the follow-up to 2011’s chart-topping debut Stereotypical.

Chris Brown - Fine China

British chart singer-songwriter has covered Chris Brown’s hit Fine China. The track, taken from Brown’s forthcoming album X scored well with fans and critics alike upon release earlier this year, thanks to its funky beat, throwback lyrics and an equally-strong video accompanied by many a Michael Jackson-esque dance move.

Jessie J’s cover puts a female touch to the hit single and was recorded earlier this week for British newspaper The Sun’s Biz Sessions.
