Barcelona’s Primavera Sound postponed to 2021

Primavera Sound Barcelona’s 20th anniversary has been officially postponed until 2021 following concerns amid the global Coronavirus pandemic.

Now set to take place across the 2nd-6th June 2021 weekend, organisers have confirmed that all existing purchased tickets will be valid for the new dates, with refunds also possible down the line.

In a statement, organisers said the postponement wasn’t for “lack of trying”, adding “When, on March 28th, we announced the change of date to the end of August, we did so under the supervision and with the green light from the local and health authorities, who at that moment validated its celebration this year. However with the evolution of this unprecedented health crisis and faced with the uncertainty of the easing of lockdown measures for festivals, we find ourselves obliged to postpone the next edition of Primavera Sound Barcelona, for reasons of force majeure, until next year”.

It’s not yet confirmed which of the 2020 artists will return next summer, though organisers have teased that first announcements will take place on 3rd June, coinciding with the date this year’s 20th anniversary was initially due to take place.
