Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of Independence Day, arguably one of the greatest disaster movies of all-time, and today, the first look of the movie’s sequel has arrived.
Set for release on 24th June (and featuring a recurring cast from the likes of Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Vivica A Fox), the unveiling of the Indepence Day: Resurgence trailer also coincides with the movie’s War of 1996 microsite, giving further cues as to the following years after the events of the original Independence Day movie.
Insights include:
– The ‘Untouched Ruins’ of Las Vegas becoming a tourist attraction.
– The death of Colonel Steven Hiller (played by Will Smith) following an ill-fating test of alien/hybrid technology
– Aliens are still present in the Congo!
