Last year, Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis confirmed that 2017 will be the time the event takes its next break, aka the ‘fallow year’; however, in a move that’s likely to excite regular attendees, it seems things may have been pushed back slightly. By a year in fact.
Usually planned in a five-year cycle (the last was in 2012, to coincide with the Olympic Games), Glastonbury’s fallow year allows the farm’s grounds to fully recover, plus bring a break to the local communities. However in an interview earlier today, Eavis confirmed that the break has been postponed to 2018. According to ITV News, negotiations with local farmers has led to the delay, meaning that Glastonbury fans will be able to revel for 2016 and now, 2017!
