The past few months have heard Joker continue to break boundaries with his impressive levels of output (the enchanting Midnight, alongside his production credits on Zak Abel’s debut EP Joker Presents: Zak Abel).
Last night, the Bristol-based producer set the mark even-higher, dropping his surprising remix of Dr Kusho, Gregory Salto and Ane Brun’s January house stormer Can’t Stop Playing (Makes Me High).
Premiered by Fader, Joker rarely spins out remixes (he himself debuts the track saying “I can’t remember the last time that I’ve taken a remix on. I pulled out the Triton for this one.”), yet we’re fortunate he turned his attentions on this one. It’s solid, more ‘radio-friendly’, and hears a level of Cashmere Cat about it too – full of zany twists and electronic loops, yet keeping the essence of Brun’s harmonious chorus in-tact.
