As part of Nile Rodgers’ collaboration with O2 and youth organisation GoThinkBig, the Chic frontman has unveiled Rudimental’s new remix of Chic’s 1978 hit, Le Freak.
Featuring 70 young aspiring musicians, all chosen by GoThinkBig and Rudimental, the remix is a massive departure from the original – gone are the discos tones that made it a standout classic; here, Rudimental add their signature DnB beats/sax jams in, to totally spin Le Freak on its head.
A release date for the track has yet to be confirmed, but in the interim, stream below. Both Nile Rodgers and Rudimental are currently in the studio (separately) working on all-new material, expected to land later this year/early-2015.
