On the same day Jessie J dropped Bang Bang, her massive pop collab with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, Macy Gray quietly also dropped her own track of the same name (itself being the lead single from her upcoming record The Way). Well, it was only a matter of time until someone fused the two together, and fortunately for us, it was Mark Hill, aka Artful (aka one half of infamous UKG duo Artful Dodger).
Adding in some signature, bouncy, 2-step house beats (and with a chorus to die for thanks to Ms Gray), the Bang Bang bootleg is a sublime garage/house crossover, plus Artful’s made it available as a free download too on his Facebook page.
Artful’s currently hard at work in the studio putting the finishing touches to his new album, Hill’s first since his Artful Dodger days on It’s All About The Stragglers, whilst also confirming tie-ups with the likes of MNEK and Becky Hill. We can’t wait to hear the end result; in the meantime though, check the full Bang Bang bootleg below:
