Video premiere: Lana Del Rey – ‘Once Upon A Dream’

Lana Del Rey has premiered the official video for new single Once Upon A Dream.

The track, previewed last night, appears on the soundtrack to new Disney movie Maleficent, featuring Angelina Jolie, and is the remake of the Sleeping Beauty classic of the same name. This is the first time we’ve heard ‘new’ music from Del Rey since her haunting Young And Beautiful taken from last year’s The Great Gatsby soundtrack.

New music: Paulo Nutini – ‘Scream (Funk My Life Up)’

After a fairly long hiatus, Paulo Nutini has unveiled his brand new single, Scream (Funk My Life Up).

Dubbed by Radio 1’s Zane Lowe as his coveted ‘Hottest Record In The World’ during the track’s premiere early this evening, Scream (Funk My Life Up) is Nutini’s first piece of new material from his forthcoming LP Caustic Love, set for release in April.

Kelis announces one-off intimate gig at Metropolis Studios

Kelis has announced a one-off intimate show on 3rd March at London’s Metropolis Studios.

The event, in support of her forthcoming album Food, will see Kelis and her band perform the album in full, recorded for a limited-run vinyl.

There’s only 100 tickets available for the show, so it’s VIP in every sense of the word, though prices, which start from £158, will surely put off all but the super-fans. However, all ticket holders will receive drink on arrival alongside a commemorative lanyard

Bestival announce disco-inspired 2014 theme

The organisers of the annual Bestival music event have announced that their 2014 theme is to be inspired by disco, dubbed ‘Desert Island Disco’.

The release on the official website of the festival, which is set to kick off on 4th September, describes the event as the “dawn of disco – a new way of life, a new way to dance until sunrise”.

Organisers have been teasing the event over the past week, tweeting various desert-island images, however now the theme has been announced, Bestival-goers are set to be in for a funky time.

The line-up is set to be announced in due course, however tickets are now on sale from Ticketline.

Skrillex and Rudimental confirmed for Exit Festival

Serbia’s Exit Festival has unveiled the first wave of their intense line-up for the event’s 15th anniversary, and it looks like a corker! Serbian festival plots bass-heavy line-up for 15th anniversary.

The first names announced see Skrillex and Rudimental as the big name hitters for the electro festival, which takes place 10th-13th July 2014.

According to sources, in celebration of their landmark 15th year, organisers of Exit have teamed up with the Sea Dance Festival in Montenegro, allowing festival-goers to join both events to make one intense week-long party – only for the hardcore we’re sure!

Angel Haze tackles Beyonce’s ‘Drunk In Love’ in 1Xtra Live Lounge

Stagedoor FM favourite Angel Haze took to Trevor Nelson’s BBC 1Xtra Live Lounge earlier today (27th January), performing both her latest single Battle Cry alongside covering Beyonce & Jay Z’s Drunk In Love.

Supported by US vocalist Lolo, Haze tackled (and succeeded) with a powerful rendition of the Beyonce hit, taken from her current self-titled LP.

Route 94’s storming 2013 house anthem My Love has finally received an official video, and it’s here in all its glory.

Featuring the vocals of Jess Glynne, who can currently be heard on Clean Bandit’s UK Number One anthem Rather Be, My Love is a gorgeous soulful house track that’s sure to chart highly upon its release at the end of February.

London Grammar announce extra dates to sold-out tour

London Grammar have confirmed three extra dates to their sold-out UK tour.

The minimalistic trio will play three dates in June, in Plymouth, London and Wolverhampton.

Organisers of the annual BRIT Awards have teased a possible collaboration between Lorde and Disclosure, after tweeting an image of the New Zealand teenager covered by the dance-duo’s now-iconic sketch face.

If indeed the speculation turns out to lead to a full performance, the inclusion of Lorde and Disclosure adds to an already-stellar lineup for the 19th February event which includes Katy Perry, Arctic Monkeys, Pharrell Williams, Bruno Mars and more.
