Sting announces June/July 2019 festival tour

Sting has announced plans for a summer 2019 European tour, with a wealth of festival and concert appearances.

Titled ‘Sting: My Songs’, the show is set to feature tracks that have spanned the former member of The Police’s five-decade career, with confirmed classics including ‘Englishman In New York’, ‘Fields Of Gold’, ‘Shape Of My Heart’, ‘Roxanne’ and more.

So far, only five dates in Germany have been announced, though more venues and cities have been promised to be added “soon”. The dates also align nicely with a Glastonbury-sized gap between his shows in Lingen and Halle. Sting’s last Worthy Farm appearance was back in 1997.

Mark Ronson announces new solo album; new single to land this week

Following various teases over the past few days, Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus will release their new collaboration ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’ later this week. Ahead of the song’s debut, Ronson has now confirmed that the track will lead the charge for his first full-length solo album since 2015’s ‘Uptown Special’.

Speaking to BBC News, the producer described the record as an “album of ‘sad bangers’ – heavy on emotion but equally serious about filling dance floors.”.

Though a release-date is yet to be revealed (alongside the project’s title), Ronson has confirmed special guests on the album will include Lykke Li, Yebba and his recent signee King Princess – alongside Cyrus of course.

‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’ will land tomorrow (Thursday 29th November).

Hear newcomer ONUR’s dreamy ‘I Don’t Know Why I Fall In Love’

22 year-old ONUR has shared his dreamy new single, ‘I Don’t Know Why I Fall In Love’.

Lifted as a prelude to his debut EP (scheduled for release early 2019), the track hears the Londoner describe the despair of a lost-love – “The song started as this Latin style track, because I think that those Argentinian style strings you hear in tango and the likes always have this romance and passion behind it” he says, adding “Carrying on from the theme of my break-up and me not getting over it, ‘I Don’t Know Why I Fall In Love’ reflects on my thoughts of her a while after the relationship ended, and how I’m still stuck in heartbreak, yet don’t want to be, therefore blaming myself for being in love, he says of the track ending on a new tempo with an explosive and brassy drop. I wanted this song to be way more intimate so it came across more like an open letter to her. Music, to me, is a visual experience, even if the track doesn’t have visuals. And with this song, I just imagine the idea of her.”

Jax Jones has teamed up with Years & Years for the first time, capping off a huge year for both acts with their new collab, ‘Play’.

Continuing Jax’s focus on partnering with some of the biggest acts in the pop world (he’s previously worked with the likes of Demi Lovato, Stefflon Don, Mabel, Raye and Ina Wroldsen & more), the producer describes the new song, saying “Olly’s got one of those unique voices – he commands your attention as soon as you hear him sing – he’s a compelling artist. We had a lot of fun writing this song together and it was great to collaborate with someone so down to earth and open to new ideas. After we had written the song I started building a track with a strong UK Garage influence, as well as my love of soul and house.”

Florence and The Machine, Foo Fighters, Twenty One Pilots, The 1975 and Martin Garrix have been announced to join Ed Sheeran as headliners for next summer’s Sziget Festival.

Set to return to its home in Budapest across the 7-13th August week, Sziget 2019 will also see appearances from the likes of Jungle, Kodaline, Maribou State, Of Mice & Men and Chvrches.

Bob Dylan and Neil Young to headline British Summer Time 2019

Bob Dylan and Neil Young have been announced as co-headliners for 2019’s British Summer Time.

The news, which will see both artists take to the stage at London’s Hyde Park on Friday 12th July, marks the first announcement of BST’s 2019 plans. Now in its seventh year, the annual event has been responsible for bringing some of the biggest artists to London – previous performers have included The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, The Cure and Eric Clapton.

Lenny Kravitz has announced a one-off exclusive UK show to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his acclaimed debut album, ‘Let Love Rule’.

Set to hit London’s O2 Arena on 11th June 2019, the reveal of the show comes off the back of his recent record ‘Raise Vibration’ – Kravitz will undoubtedly play parts of his latest collection when he reaches the rest of Europe prior to the London date. Support has been confirmed from Corinne Bailey Rae, alongside protest rock collective, Brass Against.
