Mike Skinner self-confirms Glastonbury 2019 DJ set

Mike Skinner has revealed he will be returning to Glastonbury’s Rum Shack for a DJ set in 2019.

Speaking to Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Skinner stopped short at confirming whether The Streets will also be performing at Worthy Farm, however did tease “we’ll see what happens before that” when posed about a possible appearance from his band.

Mike previously played at The Rum Shack (situated inside Glastonbury’s The Common) in 2017, where he hosted a DJ set from Tonga, the club night he co-founded alongside Murkage Dave.

In related Glastonbury news, Kylie Minogue was earlier revealed as the 2019 ‘legend‘, a moment that’ll mark the popstar’s first solo appearance on the Pyramid Stage.

Listen: The Raconteurs share their first new music in over a decade

The Raconteurs – Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence & Patrick Keeler – have announced two new songs, their first taste of new music in over 10 years.

‘Now That You’re Gone’ (which features Benson on lead vocals) and ‘Sunday Driver’ (with Jack White on lead) were both born during the recent sessions from the band’s long-awaited new Raconteurs album, due for release sometime in 2019. “We’re knee deep in the trenches of our first new album in a decade” says White- “We have a vast amount of genre-pushing songs that bridge the gap between Detroit and Nashville rock and roll. The album sounds like a World War. It’s great to be co-writing songs with Brendan Benson again, the man is a song craftsman.”

Angie Stone announces intimate 2019 UK tour

Angie Stone has announced a string of intimate UK tour dates following her headline set at London’s Innervisions Festival earlier this year.

Kicking off in Birmingham on 17th October, the Grammy Award-winning soul and RnB artist will then travel to Manchester’s O2 Ritz the following day. Stone will then conclude her short UK trip with a performance at London’s IndigO2, The O2 Arena’s intimate side-venue.

Glastonbury organisers have revealed their new logo and typeface for the festival’s anticipated 2019 return.

Quietly shared as part of Kylie Minogue’s appointment announcement for the ‘tea time legends slot’, the new Glastonbury logo keeps with the multi-coloured text of previous years, with subtle differences to the font itself – no doubt some online sleuths will find the exact ttf files in no-time for you to make your own mocks! Oh, and kudos if anyone can delve into why the image of the moon about Glastonbury Tor falls part of the centre ‘O’.

Glastonbury 2019: Kylie Minogue confirmed for Sunday afternoon ‘Legends’ slot

Following earlier reports, Kylie Minogue has now been confirmed to finally light up the Pyramid Stage at 2019’s Glastonbury Festival.

Revealed to play in the coveted tea-time ‘Legends’ slot on 30th June, Minogue will follow in a long-line of big name stars who have performed at the 4pm show, including the likes of Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Tony Bennett and Dame Shirley Bassey. The singer’s appearance will mark only the second Worthy Farm outing for the star, having previously appeared onstage with The Scissor Sisters in 2010. Kylie had previously been scheduled to headline Glastonbury back in 2005 but had to cancel her appearance following her cancer diagnosis.

Lifted off his recent album ‘Oxnard’, the new clip follows on from the track’s initial visual, which was released a fortnight after the song’s unveiling. The new vertical video however takes a different spin on things – shot on location by Anderson’s son Soul, going behind the scenes of the formation of the original ‘Tints’ video.

The Good, The Bad & The Queen announce new 2019 UK tour dates

Damon Albarn’s supergroup The Good, The Bad & The Queen have confirmed an extended tour schedule with new dates rolling into April 2019.

The shows, which follow last month’s release of the band’s second album ‘Merrie Land’ also saw a selection of intimate live performances across the UK, including a night at Blackpool’s historic North Pier. Their 2019 schedule will TGTBTQ play in Cardiff, Sheffield, Norwich, Manchester and Liverpool, before culminating with a homecoming show at the London Palladium on Good Friday, 19th April.
