Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy and De La Soul announce ‘Gods of Rap’ UK tour

Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy and De La Soul have announced a trio of UK tour dates under their ‘Gods of Rap’ moniker.

Set to perform shows at Wembley Arena, Manchester Arena and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro in May, the three dates will see the iconic groups celebrate anniversaries of their landmark albums – Wu-Tang Clan’s ‘Enter The Wu-Tang 36 Chambers’, Public Enemy’s ‘It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back’ and De La Soul’s ‘3 Feet High and Rising’. The dates will also be hosted and presented by the legendary DJ Premier.

Hear James Blake’s new album ‘Assume Form’

James Blake has released his fourth album ‘Assume Form’, the follow-up to 2016’s ‘The Colour in Anything’.

Featuring appearances from the likes of André 3000, Travis Scott and Moses Sumney, the project comes ahead of a trio of intimate UK shows which will take place later in the spring. He will also be playing at this summer’s Primavera Sound Festival.

Released earlier today (17th January), the revised edit hears a slightly reworked beat with added vocals (and intro) from Weezy – Sia and Labrinth’s roles remain the same.

Dawn Richard has shared her excellent new song ‘sauce’ ahead of next week’s release of her upcoming album ‘new breed’.

Produced by Hudson Mohawke alongside Cole M.G.N. (Christine & The Queens), the singer explains the background behind new single – “‘sauce is about women taking pride in their prowess, and about being raised to celebrate my skin” she explains – “I lost focus of that when so many men degraded and disrespected my brown skin. ‘Sauce’ is about being bathed in your own beauty, being sexy for you. The new breed of women are unapologetic about sex and the way they choosing to express themselves.”

The track, premiered by Annie Mac on her BBC Radio 1 show this evening (16th January), will join previous singles ‘Offence‘, ‘Boss‘ and ‘101 FM‘ on the Londoner’s forthcoming third studio album ‘Grey Area’ which is due out on 1st March.

While DJ Mustard has now dropped his DJ moniker (he’ll now be known as solely, Mustard), he’s still on-course for firing out the bangers. And today he doesn’t hold back with his solid new gem, ‘Pure Water’.

No relation to Skepta’s, Mustard’s own ‘Pure Water’ brings assisted vocals from Migos. “At first it was just a song me and Quavo came up with” he told Zane Lowe who premiered the song on his Beats 1 show, adding “and then I was like, ‘No, I gotta get the whole gang on here’. We worked our way to get everybody on there and it was … I knew what it was when I first heard it though”.

Premiered on Julie Adenuga’s Beats 1 show earlier today (16th January), ‘You Don’t Know’ hears the Londoner hook up with Rebel Kleff and Kiko Bun, and appears ahead of his upcoming UK and Ireland tour which kicks off in the spring.
