Dua Lipa has released her first taste of new music for 2019, sharing ‘Swan Song’, the artist’s contribution to the new ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ movie.
Premiered on BBC Radio 1 earlier today (24th January), ‘Swan Song’ marks Lipa’s first new track since last year’s Silk City hook-up on ‘Electricity’. Currently a standalone project for the upcoming James Cameron movie, it’s unclear whether ‘Swan Song’ will also appear on Dua’s anticipated second studio album, expected later this year.

After previewing the song during the Australian leg of their ‘High As Hope’ tour, Florence and The Machine have now shared the studio version of their new single, ‘Moderation’.
Premiered as Zane Lowe’s latest World Record on Apple’s Beats 1, ‘Moderation’ marks the first piece of new material from Florence Welch and her crew since 2018’s aforementioned record, and comes ahead of the group’s headline slots at a wealth of festivals including Boardmasters, Sziget and Hyde Park’s British Summer Time. Alongside ‘Moderation’, the band also shared a second, shorter ballad, ‘Haunted House’.

Organisers of this year’s Grammy Awards have announced an expansion to the 2019 performer line-up, adding the likes of H.E.R. and Red Hot Chili Peppers to the roster.
Set to join previously-announced Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Dan + Shay, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monáe, and Kacey Musgraves, the 2019 Grammy Awards will also see performances from Miley Cyrus and Brandi Carlile.
Taking the GRAMMY stage for the first time, Carlile is up for six awards, including Record Of The Year for ‘The Joke’ and Album Of The Year for ‘By The Way, I Forgive You’. H.E.R. meanwhile walked away with a huge amount of nominations earlier this month, including her self-titled Album Of The Year, Best R&B Song for ‘Focus’ and Best R&B Performance for ‘Best Part’.
The 2019 Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from LA on 10th February. The ceremony will be hosted by Alicia Keys. Check the full list of nominations here.
Vampire Weekend have returned after a 6-year hiatus, sharing two new songs ‘Harmony Hall ‘and ‘2021’.
The band are currently readying their all-new project ‘FOTB’, their first since 2013’s ‘Modern Vampires Of The City’ – fans are eagerly trying to unscramble the acronym which was teased by Ezra Koenig and his cohorts last week. A rumoured four more songs are expected to be released from the double-album prior to its full unveiling later this year.
‘Harmony Hall’ was written by Ezra Koenig and produced by Ariel Rechtshaid & Ezra Koenig, with additional production by Rostam Batmanglij. Meanwhile ‘2021’ was written by Ezra Koenig & Haruomi Hosono and produced by Ariel Rechtshaid and Ezra Koenig.

Little Mix have teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign for a fresh rework of ‘Think About Us’.
Lifted off their recent record ‘LM5’, the new song follows last year’s ‘Woman Like Me’ which saw the four-piece collaborate with Nicki Minaj for the first time. The band have also been announced as one of the featured performers for next month’s BRIT Awards in London.

Bring Me The Horizon have shared a further teaser from their forthcoming album ‘amo’, teaming up with Grinmes for ‘nihilist blues’.
The song, which comes ahead of the 25th January release of the record, follows reports toward the end of 2018 that both camps had collaborated on new music.

Calvin Harris has been announced as the latest big-name performer for the 2019 BRIT Awards, bringing Sam Smith, Dua Lipa and Rag’n’Bone Man in tow too.
Nominated for British Single and British Video of the Year for his ‘One Kiss’ collaboration with Dua Lipa, the ceremony will surprisingly mark Harris’ debut appearance on the BRIT Awards stage. Jason Iley, BRITs Chairman and Chairman and CEO of Sony Music UK & Ireland said: “I’m delighted that Calvin will be performing at The BRITs for the first time ever; he is a global superstar who has created some of the biggest hits with the biggest artists in the world. The stats say it all! He will be joined by a trio of incredible British talent – Dua Lipa, Sam Smith and Rag‘n’Bone Man – each of whom are individually amazing performers and have been lighting up the UK charts. This will undoubtedly be one of the standout moments of the night.”
Harris and co will join previously-announced Little Mix, George Ezra and The 1975 when the BRIT Awards returns on 20th February. The show will be broadcast live on ITV and simulcast on YouTube.
J. Cole has shared his first piece of new music for 2019 with the T-Minus produced ‘Middle Child’.
Showing support for some of the biggest rappers in the game (including Jay-Z, 21 Savage and Kodak Black), ‘Middle Child’ also hears Cole touch on his beef with Drake, reflecting that alterations in the hip-hop world just aren’t necessary – “Just put the Rollie right back on my wrist. This watch came from Drizzy, he gave me a gift. Back when the rap game was praying Ill’d diss – they act like two legends cannot co-exist”.

Arcadia organisers have announced the full line-up for this summer’s London return, following their teaser of headliners back in December.
Set to engulf East London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park across the 4/5th May bank holiday weekend, the return of the infamous ‘Arcadia Spider’ will see the likes of Mele, Lady Leshurr, Toddla T and Fabio & Grooverider join the previously-announced Sub Focus, DJ EZ and Jamie Jones. Additional names include Dimension, Ed Rush and Maya Jane Coles.
