Coachella 2019: Here’s all the set-times you need

Coachella organisers have announced the set-times and stage locations for the upcoming first weekend of the annual California festival.

Set to be headlined by Childish Gambino (Friday), Ariana Grande (Saturday) and Tame Impala (Sunday), the setlist will undoubtedly help those who are either in attendance at the event or scheduling their plans to watch their favourite acts from the global live-stream.

Alongside the main-stage line-up, organisers have also shared the schedule for the Do LaB stage, which will see appearances from Elderbrook and Pete Tong. A handful of surprise guests have also been teased on the line-up too.

Glastonbury 2020: Paul McCartney in line for 50th anniversary appearance

Michael Eavis has teased an appearance from Paul McCartney at Glastonbury Festival’s 50th anniversary in 2020.

Speaking to BBC Somerset, Eavis said “hopefully for the 50th, yeah” when questioned whether the musician will be gracing Worthy Farm.

McCartney was previously rumoured to headline 2019’s edition of the festival, having previously played the Pyramid Stage in 2004.

Premiered as Zane Lowe’s latest World Record on Apple’s Beats 1, 6LACK’s addition brings an extra layer of sexual tension between the pair, seemingly delivering a more modern take on Kelly Rowland and Nelly’s ‘Dilemma’.

Childish Gambino and Rihanna’s ‘Guava Island’ to debut at Coachella

Though we still don’t know a huge amount about ‘Guava Island’ – Donald Glover’s upcoming feature film with Rihanna – we do now know when we’ll be able to see it.

Confirmed earlier today, the project, which was teased as far back as last November, will have its premiere as part of YouTube’s live stream of Coachella. Glover, aka Childish Gambino, will headline the festival on Friday, April 12th, and according to leaked ads on Spotify, the film will air the following night. Some online sources are pointing to ‘Guava Island’ being part of a new visual album from Donald Glover, will has previously been confirmed as the final full-length project under his Gambino-moniker.

Whatever happens, we’ll be there to report it. In the meantime, watch the fan-shot footage of the movie’s trailer below:

Khalid announces 2019 UK arena tour

Khalid has confirmed details of a forthcoming UK arena tour.

Kicking off the newly announced dates in London on 17 September, the acclaimed Texas-raised musician will then head across the UK, stopping in Glasgow, Birmingham and Leeds. The shows will be in celebration of his recent album, ‘Free Spirit’.

Known for his powerful live shows, the last time Khalid was in the UK the singer sold out two nights at London’s Eventim Apollo.

Tickets for the tour will be available from 10:00 on Friday 12 April 2019 through Ticketmaster. Check the schedule below:

Tame Impala announce summer 2019 UK tour dates

Tame Impala have announced a host of UK tour dates as they gear up for the expected release of their all-new album.

Set to act as a precursor to their return to Glastonbury Festival this summer, the shows will see Kevin Parker and his band perform a mammoth set at London’s O2 Arena in early-June. They will also take to Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom and Dublin’s 3Arena the week prior to Glastonbury.

Last month the group announced their return with the hypnotic ‘Patience‘, their first new single in four years. Toward the end of 2018, Parker also teamed up with Theophilus London for a handful of songs under the name Theo Impala.

Rita Ora has become the latest artist to grace Spotify’s esteemed ‘Spotify Singles’ series, revealing a pair of acoustic stripped-back tracks for fans.

Opening with a rendition of ‘Only Want You’, lifted off her sophomore album ‘Phoenix’, Ora also shared her wistful cover of Joni Mitchell’s iconic hit ‘Big Yellow Taxi’.

Horse Meat Disco self-confirm Glastonbury 2019

House quartet Horse Meat Disco have self-confirmed their appearance at this summer’s Glastonbury Festival.

Teasing the news via their Eagle London apparel Twitter account (which also detailed the rest of their summer listings), HMD’s Worthy Farm appearance is to be expected, having been Glastonbury staples for over a decade. Their last appearance was led by their own Luke Howard at Block 9’s NYC Downlow in 2017.

Horse Meat Disco add themselves to a handful of acts who have self-confirmed their appearances post the initial Glastonbury line-up reveal last month. Singer/songwriter Lucy Rose announced her appointment to the roster during a chat with Jo Whiley earlier this week.

Glastonbury Festival will return to Somerset between 26-30th June 2019.

Avicii’s posthumous album ‘TIM’ announced for summer release

Avicii’s family will release the producer’s third album posthumously later this summer, having teamed up with the producer’s closest collaborators to complete his unfinished work.

The Swedish DJ, who passed away last year, was working on his new music prior to his death in Muscat, Oman. To help complete the songs, close collaborators used notes, emails and texts to ensure the final pieces would stay close to Avicii’s own vision.

The record, called ‘TIM’, will be released on 6th June – revenue from sales will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation, set up by his family to support people and organisations in the field of mental illness and suicide prevention.
