Flow Festival 2017: The xx, London Grammar & Flume confirmed

Organisers of Helsinki’s Flow Festival have announced the initial 2017 line-up, and it looks like next summer is already shaping up to be more than meaty!

Lana Del Ray will be playing her first major European festival show of the year, whilst alongside The xx and Aphex Twin (who have already been ramping up 2017’s festival run), next year’s Flow also sees a welcome return from London Grammar.

Currently putting the finishing touches to their anticipated second studio album, London Grammar’s appearance on the lineup should massively excite fans, potentially pointing the way for the new record plus further European shows too. Meanwhile, Flume will also be making his debut appearance in Helsinki, and we can expect DJ sets from Jon Hopkins and the Bicep boys too.

Isle of Wight Festival 2017: Run DMC & David Guetta announced as latest headliners

Run DMC and David Guetta have been revealed as the final two headliners for 2017’s Isle Of Wight Festival, joining the prevously-announced Arcade Fire and Rod Stewart. Guetta and Run DMC will hit up the main stage as co-headliners on Friday 9th June – they will both be UK festival exclusives for 2017 too.

Jack Savoretti, George Ezra, Bastille and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man have also been confirmed for next year’s line-up too, whilst we can expect organisers to reveal more acts over the coming months. In the meantime, tickets for next year’s event, which runs from 8-11th June, are onsale now direct from Ticketmaster:

Parklife 2017: Frank Ocean rumoured

Parklife will return to Manchester’s Heaton Park next summer, and whilst all details are still under-wraps, organisers have teased a ‘coming soon’ message which has sparked theory about 2017’s headliner.

Sharing a teaser earlier in the week, the image (below) depicts a pair of Nike trainers, a brand synonymous with Frank Ocean, particularly as the lead track from his late-summer LP Blond – It’d be bizarre to assume the brand would appear for any other reason, and if true, would mark Frank’s live debut in Manchester.

A fortnight back, Lovebox organisers confirmed they had secured the star to headline next year’s event in Victoria Park, revealed as a ‘London festival exclusive’.

More as we hear it. Tickets are yet to go onsale but you can head over to their official site here for more info. Parklife 2017 runs across the 10/11th June weekend.

Jodie Abacus hooks up with SOHN for the funky (and incredibly-poignant) Keep Your Head Down, delivering a deep message centred around the refugee crisis.

Speaking on the track, Jodie says:

“I started writing this song after I woke up one morning in my hotel room in LA and started watching a segment on refugees. That same day I had a studio session with Nick Ruth and SOHN so I went in the studio with this idea in my head. I wanted to sympathise and put myself in their shoes to express what it could be like to flee your country with your family in the midst of war and destruction in the hopes of finding safety in a Western country, only to not be accepted there. That absolute feeling of total unease and desperation…We’re safe here, but we can only imagine”.

Featuring tracklist interpretations from the likes of SOHN, Riton and Joe Goddard, the HONNE lads have previewed the full project by sharing the Pat Lok remix of FHKD, which we’re bringing you today.

The release of the collection marks a stellar year for HONNE, following the recent completion of their 55-date worldwide headline tour, which included sold-out shows across the UK. Expect further announcements about their 2017 plans, including potential festival dates, in the coming months; in the meantime, vibe to FHKD below:

Snakehips and Tory Lanez were a match made in heaven when the duo remixed the latter’s Dimelo last year, and now both camps have reunited, with the Snakehips lads flipping Tory’s LUV.

Coming almost half a year on from the original, the duo seem to have delivered something that’s on an equal level playing field as the early-summer jam; Snakehips have reinvigorated their warming sound with this one and we wouldn’t be surprised if this hit up the A-list on many radio stations on all sides of the pond.

Mumdance throws his own signature production across Mura Masa and A$AP Rocky’s Love$ick in his surprise new remix. Enlisting guest vocals from Roll Deep’s Riko Dan, the new edit adds further depth to the reboot of 2015’s initially-titled Lovesick Fuck – the added attraction of both Mumdance and Riko definitely show how much the scene are getting behind Mura Masa’s futuretronica appeal, though.
