Ed Sheeran and Foo Fighters are the likely candidates to join Radiohead to complete the trio of headliners at 2017’s Glastonbury Festival.
According to The Sun, Ed will hit Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage as the main Saturday night headliner; Foo Fighters will close the proceedings the following day (Sunday 26th June), whilst Radiohead have already been confirmed to hit up Worthy Farm on the Friday.
Sheeran, whose return to Twitter on Tuesday sparked a frenzy among his fanbase, is set to hit the ground running early next year with his as-yet-untitled third studio record, the follow-up to 2014’s sophomore effort, X. The Sun’s source says “Michael [Eavis] is delighted to get Ed signed up….It’s going to be a huge moment for the festival having him up there marking his comeback in front of a giant crowd. Ed’s always said headlining Glastonbury has been a big ambition of his”.
In 2015, Sheeran broke records selling out three nights at Wembley Stadium, at the time the largest gigs of his career. In perspective, it is estimated over 100,000 people watched Adele headline Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage earlier this year.
Foo Fighters were also set to play 2015’s Glastonbury, but had to cancel their appearance a fortnight prior after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg; they have been rumoured to return to Worthy Farm ever since.

Diana Ross and Mary J. Blige have been confirmed as the first two headliners for 2017’s Essence Festival in New Orleans.
Announced earlier today, Blige and Ross will also be joined by the likes of John Legend, Chaka Khan, Solange and India Arie, with more set to be announced over the coming weeks.
“But why do I need to care when I live in the UK?” we hear you ask. Well…. we know you love a UK festival rumour, and the fact Essence kicks off one week after 2017’s Glastonbury is important news, particularly when it comes to the acts who are confirmed to be hitting the festival circuit.
Mary J Blige last played Worthy Farm back in 2015 (the singer’s debut), surprising the crowd with a world-class performance that included some of her biggest hits to-date. Meanwhile, Diana Ross has long-since been rumoured to be filling the coveted Sunday Afternoon Legends Slot for 2017, a position originally ‘confirmed’ by Barry Gibb earlier this year. Whilst we’re not jumping to any conclusions just yet, the fact both artists are readying a live show toward the end of June certainly excites us – if even one of Essence’s line-up even makes a trip to Glastonbury, then next year’s soiree could be one of the strongest for soul and R&B fans yet.

For those who have been keeping their ears to the scene for a while now, the BrOTHERHOOD trilogy should be familiar ground – having already achieved success with KiDULTHOOD back in 2006, and then 2008’s follow-up AdULTHOOD, Noel Clarke capped off the series with one heck of a movie back in the summer, alongside breaking tremendous ground with the film’s excellent soundtrack.
The movie, which hits DVD on Boxing Day, follows Sam (Clarke) as he faces up to the new world after the 2008 flick, and realises it also comes with new problems and new challenges. Sam knows that to survive he must face his issues head on, and knows he will require old friends to help him survive new dangers. Noel Clarke reprises the role of Sam Peel with breakthrough Grime artist Stormzy appearing alongside him as Yardz. Alongside Clarke, the film also stars Arnold Oceng (AdULTHOOD), Jason Maza (Fishtank) and Olivia Chenery (Penny Dreadful).

Sinead Harnett has shared the video for Rather Be With You, the latest track from her early-autumn self-titled EP.
Of the song, Sinead says – “I wrote ‘Rather Be With You’ after I’d broken up with someone because they’d done something really stupid, and we hadn’t spoken for a few weeks. I wasn’t upset when I wrote it though, I’d gotten to a mischievous stage where I was toying with the idea of getting back with him, because no one else compared. In the video, we aimed to mirror the ups and downs within the relationship, whilst keeping that mischievous and playful tone.”

With the line-up for next year’s event still remaining under wraps (we should hear more on that front in the New Year), Bestival organisers have revealed the surprise news of a change in location for 2017.
Moving from their regular home at Robin Hill Park on the Isle of Wight, September’s Bestival will now be held at Dorset’s Lulworth Estate, the same location utilised for their sister Camp Bestival weekend which runs in July.
Announcing the news earlier this morning, Bestival founder and curator Rob da Bank said:
“We can confirm we have submitted a licence application for a new site at the Lulworth Estate in Dorset and we’re super excited about our shiny new Bestival adventure. We have an incredible line-up, headliners confirmed and ridiculous new stages and installations coming your way in 2017.
We remain fully committed to supporting the Isle of Wight through music, charities and projects and will be giving Islanders an exclusive ticket offer for the new site. Plus we’re working towards a new event for the Island. Watch this space…”
