New Gorillaz music to land this week

Truth be told, it’s been a busy few months for Gorillaz. After spending the best part of last year teasing their all-new studio album, 2017 has already been filled with gems for fans of Damon Albarn’s band – first came the Benjamin Clementine-featuring Hallelujah Money, whilst earlier this month saw the reveal of their Demon Dayz Festival, alongside the vinyl reissue of that poignant album itself.

Now, following the recent leak of the apparent tracklist, Gorillaz are back with an all-new album, and it seems we’ll be hearing the first two tracks this evening (23rd March)! Gorillaz will return to Radio 1 delivering two songs for Mistajam’s Hottest Record – everything kicks off at 19:30 GMT (on the dot!) so stay locked. Catch the full announcement below:

Run The Jewels share ‘Legend Has It’ video; confirm Glastonbury 2017

Rap super-duo Run The Jewels have self-confirmed their appearance at this summer’s Glastonbury Festival, alongside sharing the explosive new video for Legend Has It, the first clip from their recent RTJ3 album.

Director Brian Beletic (responsible for El-P’s ‘Deep Space 9mm’) speaks of the visual, saying:

“The video for ‘Legend Has It’ plays with the theme of guilty until proven innocent. We live in a world where the stronger the truth the greater the opposition. In this story EL-P and Killer Mike are in a police lineup and the cards are stacked heavily against them. But why is that?” And for Run the Jewels, “this video is a worst nightmare scenario. High on acid and caught in the system. Pitted against icons of innocence in a police line up that doesn’t feel real. No bunnies were hurt in the making of this video.”

Meanwhile, the Glastonbury confirmation can be found in the group’s recent email newsletter (handily snapped and shared on Twitter too).

Somerset House Summer Series 2017: Line-up announced

Birdy, Tom Misch, Robert Glasper and Damian Marley are among the names confirmed for this year’s Somerset House Summer Series, as American Express confirm the return of their annual event for the eighth year running.

Kicking off on 6th July with a headline set from Norah Jones, Summer Series will carry on every night through to 16th July, where it will be closed by Songhoy Blues. Support acts have yet to be confirmed for any of the shows, however Tom Misch has promised some ‘very special guests’ when he hits the stage on 14th July.

South West Four organisers have announced a further expansion to their line-up, adding in special guests Example and DJ Wire to complete the full listing for Sunday’s main stage.

Set to be headlined by Deadmau5, SW4’s closing night wil also see the likes of Sub Focus, Loco Dice and Martin Solveig join Wire and Example, whilst other acts appearing elsewhere during the day include Dusky, Ilan Bluestone, Tchami and Bakermat.

Glastonbury 2017: Diana Ross ruled out of Legends slot

Following previous ‘clues’ circulating the web over the past few months, Diana Ross’ rumoured appearance at this summer’s Glastonbury Festival has now been ruled out, following a clash in bookings.

Expected to appear in the coveted ‘Sunday Afternoon Legends Slot’ (often mooted as Glastonbury’s ‘fourth headliner’), Ross was initially teased by Bee Gee Barry Gibb following last year’s event, however now it seems the former Supreme will instead be performing in Miami.

According to Lite Miami, Ross will instead be playing at the Ziff Ballet Opera House in the Florida city on Sunday 25th June.

Earlier today, Nile Rodgers confirmed he would be returning to Glastonbury this summer, with many fans hoping a Diana announcement would follow suit.

London Grammar announce intimate April 2017 UK shows

London Grammar have announced plans for their first UK shows of the year, as they cement their return with a trio of dates across Glasgow, Birmingham and London.

Kicking off at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on 3rd April, the London-based three-piece will then travel to Birmingham’s Town Hall (4th April) before concluding with an intimate set at Hackney’s Round Chapel two days later. Fans can sign up for pre-sale information over on their website (link below) – with the size of these venues we’d expect tickets to go double-quick.

London Grammar returned with a bang earlier this year, sharing Rooting For You as the clock struck midnight on New Years’ Day. Since then they have also released Big Picture, performed at the BBC’s Maida Vale studios, and have also self-confirmed their return to Glastonbury this summer; all this culminating in the impending announcement of their anticipated second studio album.

TLC confirm new album and announce one-off London show

The remaining members of TLC have announced their first ever UK live show.

Set to hit London on 9th May, the intimate show at Camden’s KOKO will see T-Boz and Chilli deliver tracks from their four studio albums, and comes ahead of the soon-to-be revealed news regarding their all-new project and lead single, both expected to land this year.

Glastonbury 2017: Nile Rodgers self-confirms

In probably one of the most exciting pieces of Glastonbury gossip to date, Chic frontman Nile Rodgers has self-confirmed his appearance back on Worthy Farm for 2017.

Revealing the news during a fan Q&A on Twitter, it will mark the first time the disco legend has graced Glastonbury since Chic’s storming West Holts headline set back in 2013.

In a set of more-recent follow-up questions from fans, Nile also confirmed Chic would be playing the Pyramid Stage with a longer set than his 2013 performance:
