Jay-Z has shared the first video from his new album 4:44, paying homage to 1920’s animation with the visuals for The Story Of O.J.
Initially released on TIDAL last week, the video follows the teaser of Footnotes For ‘The Story of O.J.’, an 8-minute clip which saw Jay comment on various elements, including social injustice and racism.

The TIDAL exclusivity of Jay-Z’s new album 4:44 is strongly-rumoured to come to an end later this week, however you needn’t wait that long to hear some of the excerpts. Last night, Annie Mac shared Bam as her latest BBC Radio 1 ‘Hottest Record’. Featuring Damian Marley, the track joins nine other songs on one of Jay-Z’s most interesting collections in years, where he uses the album to respond to various rumours over the latter part in his career (particularly ‘that’ elevator fight with Solange, plus his newfound beef with Kanye).

After sharing the track’s official video last week, Jamiroquai have followed up the release of Superfresh with the song’s first official remix, courtesy of Dutch producer Oliver Heldens.

Duke Dumont and Gorgon City have shared their tongue-in-cheek video for their catchy new single, Real Life.
Assisted by vocals from NAATIONS, the emoji-fuelled clip draws influence from the dystopian world that social media creates – a sign of reality unfortunately for many high school western audiences right now.
Watch it in full below; both Duke Dumont and Gorgon City are preparing for a relentless summer of touring including numerous dates in Ibiza. Both artists will be returning for their residency at Together, Amnesia and playing at key festivals such as SW4 Festival, V Festival and Creamfields. In addition, Gorgon City will be embarking on a US and UK ‘Kingdom’ tour at the end of the year whilst Duke Dumont will be playing at Tomorrowland and heading to America and Australia for a further string of international tour dates.
Though initially a TIDAL exclusive, it seems Jay-Z’s new album 4:44 will be coming to other platforms sooner than we think.
According to Billboard sources, the project, Jay-Z’s 13th studio outing, will arrive on iTunes and Apple Music this coming Friday, 7th July following the closure of Sprint and TIDAL’s exclusivity window.
Billboard’s source has also revealed that a physical release (likely both CD and vinyl, to align with the latter format’s resurgence), is also on the cards too, though a date for that is still yet to be confirmed.
Fans are already making their own minds up about the 10-track 4:44, with topics rumoured to cover Jay’s infamous ‘elavator fight’ with Solange back in 2014. In Kill Jay Z, Jigga says (supposedly to Beyonce) “You egged Solange on, knowin’ all along all you had to say you was wrong / You almost went Eric Benét, let the baddest girl in the world get away / I didn’t even know what else to say. Never go Eric Benét / I don’t even know what you woulda done, in the future, other playing football with your son.” Elsewhere on the same track, Jay fires back to Kanye West, saying “You gave him 20 million without thinking/He gave you 20 minutes on stage, was he thinking?/wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’, But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”

Early last month, Skepta made his long-awaited debut at NYC’s Governor’s Ball, energising a packed out crowd one year on since his initial appearance was scuppered due to visa issues.
