Wireless 2018: Dates announced; early-bird tickets released

Wireless Festival organisers have announced their 2018 plans, mere days after shutting down Finsbury Park with the likes of Skepta, Chance The Rapper and The Weeknd.

Set to return to the same venue, Wireless 2018 will cover the 6-8 July weekend; acts of course are still yet to be revealed (announcements will be likely early next year).

To capitalise on last weekend’s success, organisers have also announced the release of a number of limited pre-sale tickets, available now via the link below:

Listen: Dr Dre – ‘Gunfire’

Dr. Dre has shared a brand new song, his first piece of new music since his 2015 Compton LP.

Titled Gunfire (and not “Gunfiyah” as originally circulated), the joint appears toward the conclusion of the fourth episode of The Defiant Ones, a documentary focusing on Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s successful music partnership.

Gunfire will not receive an official release, however as one would expect, has quickly spread throughout the web – catch it below:

Back in January, London Grammar dropped a New Year gift for us all, announcing their return with the chilling Rooting For You.

Delivering a stark reminder of both Dan and Dot’s excellent production and instrumental abilities, the track also firmly gave us a glimpse of how far Hannah Reid’s vocals have come over the years in hibernation. Not only that, their reappearance on the scene also made many reminisce of the multitude of 5* remixes that came in abundance with their 2013 debut album, and they’ve continued this theme with their second studio project, Truth Is A Beautiful Thing.

We’ve already had reworks of various tracks from the likes of MK, Tiga and SG Lewis, however today it’s now the turn of Danish export Kölsch who’s shared his epic 12-minute rendition of Hell To The Liars.

The track’s already been doing the rounds during the producer’s live shows the past few weeks, whilst it’s received another seal of approval courtesy of Annie Mac, appearing on the ‘First Played’ section on her recent R1 Dance show too. Basically you know you’re in good hands all round with this one.

Jay-Z announces ‘4:44’ US tour dates

Following the expanded release of 4:44 to other streaming platforms last week, Jay-Z has announced plans to tour his new project later this year.

With shows set to be US-only for the time being, Jay will kick off the 31-date stint on 27th October in California, before travelling throughout the States with stops including Texas, Florida and New York. There will also be shows in Canada too.

The tour is being produced in partnership with Live Nation, which follows a 10-year $200m touring agreement signed between both parties earlier this year.

TIDAL members will have access to presale tickets today, with general release to all later this week, Friday 14th July. Meanwhile, UK fans will be able to watch Jay-Z’s exclusive only 2017 European show when he headlines V Festival next month. (Tickets for that show available here).

Tchami dropped an absolute win earlier this year, when he shared his progressive dancefloor-filler Adieu out of nowhere, a song ripe enough to become of the biggest festival anthems this summer.

Today the Parisian follows up the joint by announcing his upcoming Revelations EP whilst connecting with New Orleans-based Luke James for World To Me.

Radio 1 announce Ibiza 2017 lineup

Annie Mac, Danny Howard, B.Traits, Monki and Mistajam have all been confirmed for Radio 1’s Ibiza lineup as the station returns to the White Isle for another year.

Set to land on the 4-6th August weekend, the Radio 1 crew will also be joined by a who’s-who of the dance scene, including TCTS, Duke Dumont, Claptone, Kideko, Gorgon City and Icarus.

R1’s closing show at Cafe Mambo will also see welcome appearances from Jorja Smith and Jessie Ware, the latter rumoured to be releasing her all-new music in the coming weeks.

TLC announce first ever UK-wide tour

Hot on the heels of last-month’s sold out show at Camden’s KOKO, TLC have announced their return to the UK for later this year.

Set to hit six major venues across the country in the autumn, the shows will see T-Boz and Chili kick off in Bournemouth on 5th November before travelling through Manchester, Glasgow and Cardiff before concluding in Birmingham on 16th November. They will also perform at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo three days prior.
