Listen: Sam Smith – ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’

Sam Smith has returned with his new single Too Good At Goodbyes, confirmed as the first track from his anticipated second studio album.

Rumoured to land toward the end of the year, Smith’s second project, tentatively-titled TPH-50HR, follows his astonishingly-successful debut, 2014’s In The Lonely Hour; Too Good At Goodbyes meanwhile comes as the first piece of new music from the Londoner since 2015’s’ Spectre’ soundtrack, Writing’s on the Wall.

Alongside the track, Sam has also announced dates for four intimate worldwide shows to mark his return. Venues will be confirmed shortly, but schedule is as follows:

11th September: LA
13th September: NYC
15th September: London (ticket ballot here)
18th September: Berlin

Snakehips announce Brixton Electric support

Snakehips have announced their support for their upcoming show at London’s Brixton Electric.

Set to be joined by special guests Trippy Turtle, MXXWLL and Bless DJs, the show will mark the duo’s biggest London date since last October’s stint at Camden’s KOKO. The night also celebrates James and Ollie’s recent release of the Anne-Marie and A$AP Rocky-featuring Either Way, alongside their excellent rework of Lana Del Rey’s Summer Bummer.

JägerHaus confirm Bestival return with Joe Goddard, Shadow Child and more

Jägermeister have announced the final stop of their summer festival tour, bringing their acclaimed JägerHaus to this weekend’s Bestival in Dorset.

Set to continue on from their success at Lovebox, Citadel and Kendal Calling, the JägerHaus will reach Bestival in a big way – headline sets across the weekend will come from the likes of Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, Circa Waves and Blossoms, whilst the Jus Now crew will bring their carnival-esque vibes to Bestival’s new home at Lulworth Estate.

Additionally, Jägermeister have also confirmed the return of ‘The Loft’, an exclusive VIP area with views of Bestival’s mainstage alongside a fully-stocked bar too. Plus, for those well accustomed to the JägerHaus, you might be hyped to hear that The Lodge, The Backyard and The Warehouse will also be making a return too!

Bestival runs from this coming Friday (8th September), right through the weekend until Monday 11th.

Could a new Michael Jackson album be on its way?

Michael Jackson fans were whipped up into hysteria earlier today following the tease of a potential new album.

Posted on the late icon’s official social accounts this morning, a 15-second animated clip, featuring backing tracks spanning Ghosts, Blood On The Dancefloor and more, led some fan accounts to believe a remix project of some of Jackson’s grittiest work could be incoming.

To add more fuel to speculation, yesterday’s Venice Film Festival launch of Thriller 3-D saw co-executor John Branca tease further outputs from the Michael Jackson estate. “Now we have ‘Thriller’ 3-D, and two more announcements are coming up in the next couple of weeks,” he told Variety. When questioned on a forthcoming album of unreleased music, he added “I don’t foresee us releasing any more unreleased music for quite some time….. That doesn’t mean there won’t be interesting [new] record releases in the very near future.”

The last full length Michael Jackson posthumous release came by way of 2014’s Xscape which featured revamps of unreleased songs alongside the originals.

UPDATE: Sony have confirmed a rerelease of original recordings under the title Scream. The full album lands 29th September.

Jessie Ware has announced details of her anticipated third studio album.

Preceded by lead single Midnight, Jessie’s new project will be titled Glasshouse, with the singer confirming the record will be released “very soon”.

After a decade of supporting some of the world’s biggest names, Apple have called time on their annual Apple Music Festival.

Repeating annually at London’s Roundhouse (having first launched at the intimate Air Studios back in 2007, and then Camden’s KOKO), the event, initially dubbed the iTunes Festival, will now no longer be returning at the venue. Likewise Apple have also confirmed the axe to reputable site Music Business Worldwide.

The festival has seen a host of big names grace the stage over the past ten years, including the likes of Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, One Direction and The Weeknd, and whilst initially running throughout September, the event was scaled back in 2015 and 2016 to just ten nights only.

The Roundhouse also confirmed the news yesterday too:

Sam Smith announces new single ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’

Sam Smith has announced his return with his new single Too Good At Goodbyes.

Set to be revealed this coming Friday, 8th September, the track will mark the first release from his anticipated second album set to land later this year; the project will also be Sam’s first full-length project since his phenomenally successful 2014 debut, In The Lonely Hour.

Smith marked the announcement of new music in various social posts over the past few days, most recently with a Spotify takeover at London’s Boxpark, highlighting the 8th September release – then on more billboard cropped up at key locations around the world.
