Glastonbury Festival to offer priority premium camping for coach ticket-holders

0

In a bid to push their green-credentials even further, Glastonbury Festival organisers will now offer the opportunity to purchase priority Worthy View pitches following the successful purchase of coach passes.

Revealed following the release of ticket on-sale dates for 2020’s Festival, organisers have confirmed those who wish to purchase access to Worthy View camping, Glastonbury’s official pre-erected campsite, will receive priority booking when sales for the area happen later this year.

The news follows what became Glastonbury’s ‘greenest year yet’, with 2019’s fixture revoking the sale of bottled water throughout the site.

Coach+ticket packages go onsale on Thursday 3rd October, three days ahead of the general admission tickets on Sunday 6th October.

Glastonbury 2020 runs from 24-28th June.

Listen: The Cinematic Orchestra – ‘Wait For Now’ (ft Tawiah)

0

The Cinematic Orchestra have shared their new single ‘Wait For Now’.

Lifted off their latest record ‘To Believe’, the heartfelt song hears TCO connect with soul singer Tawiah (who has worked with Mark Ronson, Wiley and Blood Orange), and comes alongsdie two new remixes – a rework from Mary Lattimore (Thurston Moore/Kurt Vile/Jarvis Cocker), and a remix of the album’s title-track by New York-based producer Anthony Naples.

Tawiah (whose own debut album arrives on 18th October via First Word Records, an exploration of her identity as a queer woman of colour raised in a Pentecostal family) says of the track “For me it’s about freeing yourself, not letting fear dictate your life and living in the now. I also think this crazy journey called life that we are on is to be shared, we all mess up “guilt + pain has made me honest once again” confronting that and communicating will always make a peak situation not feel as overwhelming. It’s all about a safe space with people that vibrate on your frequency.”

Dominic Smith said of Tawiah’s feature, “The lyrics as with everybody (on To Believe), discuss concepts about engaging with consciousness. Tawiah took that concept into both a personal and universal place, which was the most we could have hoped for, it’s visceral, micro and macro.”

Jungle announce new ‘Back To Mine’ mixtape featuring unreleased music

Following the conclusion of their two-year ‘For Ever’ tour, Jungle have announced their latest project, taking the helm of Ultra Records’ esteemed ‘Back To Mine’ series.

Spanning two decades, ‘Back To Mine’ has become synonymous as an outreach for artists to share music that vibe them out, moreso in their own lives versus on a night out – previous contributors have included the likes of MJ Cole, Roots Manuva and Morcheeba – Nightmares On Wax rebooted the collection upon its return earlier this year.

Jungle’s own foray into the project, which drops in October, features some of the band’s favourite tracks, including cuts from Barbara Moore, Merle, Drumtalk, Mocky, Kamaal Williams, BadBadNotGood and Mansur Brown. ‘Back To Mine’ will also star an exclusive unreleased track from Jungle – ‘Come Back A Different Day’.

Listen to a preview of the song, alongside the project’s trailer, below. ‘Back To Mine’ can be preordered, here.

Taylor Swift announces 2020 European festival tour

0

Taylor Swift has just announced a host of festival dates in support of her recent album, ‘Lover’.

Set to play a handful of outdoor shows across Europe in June 2020, the glaring omission of UK dates has led fans to believe that a Glastonbury Festival debut is also on the cards. A gap appears in Taylor’s schedule towards the tail-end of the festival (Saturday 27th/Sunday 28th June), so an afternoon appearance on the Pyramid Stage certainly makes sense. Moreso, a sneaky sub-line at the bottom of the poster also signifies “additional UK and International dates and festivals will be announced soon.

Following the European dates, which conclude on 9th July, Swift will then head to South America before embarking to the US where she’ll play her own ‘Lover Fest’ in LA and Foxborough.

Check the full schedule below; Glastonbury Festival will celebrate its 50th anniversary on 24-28th June 2020:

Supergrass hint at anniversary Glastonbury 2020 show

0

After calling it quits way back in 2010, Supergrass have announced their reformation as they gear up to the 25th anniversary of their debut record, ‘I Should Coco’.

Later this evening (6th September), the band will play their first show for nine years as special guests for Glastonbury Festival’s annual Pilton Party; rumours are abound that they will then announce a full-scale 2020 tour.

Previous Pilton Party performers have since gone on to play at Glastonbury Festival the following year, so it’s highly-likely Gaz Coombes and his cohorts will do the same. Wolf Alice will also be joining Supergrass on the Pilton line-up, with Michael Eavis having already confirmed the band will return to Glastonbury Festival for the event’s 50th anniversary in 2020.

More to follow.
