Alongside his impending retirement from the music scene, Elton John recently revealed that a pair of records that will reimagine some of his classic work will also be readying for release.

The first, titled ‘Revamp’, will land tomorrow (6th April), and whilst we’ve already been treated to reinterpretations from the likes of Lady Gaga (‘Your Song’) and Q-Tip and Demi Lovato (‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’), today comes Ed Sheeran’s 2018 reboot of ‘Candle In The Wind’.

Following a five year hiatus, UK trio Friendly Fires have returned with their brand new single ‘Love Like Waves’. Produced and mixed by Mark Ralph, the track is set to herald a fresh new era for the band, who have so far released two full length LPs – their eponymous, Mercury Prize-nominated 2008 debut and its 2011 follow up ‘Pala’.

Stream Snakehips’ new ‘Stay Home Tapes’ EP

Snakehips have unveiled their new ‘Stay Home Tapes’ EP following recent reveals of the project’s ‘Cruzin‘ and ‘For The F^_^k Of It’.

The 6-track collection, which arrives alongside a 3-part mini-movie, hears Ollie and James return to their classic early sound, where they gave future-licked interpretations of old-school hip-hop sonics.

“The EP is a bunch of tunes that we made after a crazy few years of touring and travelling the world” say the boys. “We called it ‘Stay Home’ as a kinda jokey way to express all the mad stuff you experience and the bizarre characters you meet along the way, and throughout that trying to stay true to yourself. The video goes with this idea too. It’s a crazy narrative that we cooked up with director Can Evgin based on an Asian woman’s journey through some incredibly trippy shit!”

Arctic Monkeys’ long-awaited new album now has a title, and a release date too!

Set to hit stores in May, Alex Turner and co’s new project will be titled ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ and was produced by Turner alongside frequent-collaborator James Ford. The band’s latest press release states the record “Finds the band intent on continuing to explore new musical terrain with each album. ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ups the ante in a big way; it is a bold and brilliant album reflecting Turner’s ever more comprehensive creative vision.”

Florence and the Machine, Jessie Ware & more added to BBC Biggest Weekend lineup

As the world waits for the impending release of all-new music, Florence and the Machine have been announced as the latest big name to be added to the BBC’s Biggest Weekend line-up next month.

Announced earlier today, Florence & co’s appointment to the Swansea guestlist also comes alongside a wealth of other big names, including Jessie Ware, CHVRCHES, Shawn Mendes, Bastille, Christine and the Queens and Demi Lovato, among others.

Bruno Major has announced his biggest headline show to date at London’s Koko.

Set to hit the iconic former Camden Palais on 4th December, the show will follow a string of live appearances throughout the year, including his current support slot for the UK leg of Sam Smith’s ‘The Thrill of It All’ tour.
