The 1975 may have let the ball drop regarding their rumoured headline appearance at 2019’s Glastonbury Festival.
In a recent interview with Radio 1’s Annie Mac where the band premiered their long-awaited return with ‘Give Yourself A Try‘, frontman Matty Healy confirmed that they would restart touring in January 2019. As the interview progressed, Mac accosted the band pushing “I think it’s about time you headlined some major festivals” (with clearly a hint for Glastonbury); with a flustered response, Healy said “haha, so do we, anyway, um, we’ve got a lot, um, yeh” – prior to that he also mentioned that next year will carry “loads of other things” for the group.
An appearance at Glastonbury 2019 will time perfectly with the band’s fourth studio album ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ which will likely land one month prior, and follow this October’s ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’. The 1975’s last Glastonbury appearance was back in 2016 with an acclaimed show on The Other Stage.
