Kendrick Lamar announced as Lollapalooza Stockholm 2020 headliner

Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the Sunday night closer for 2020’s Lollapalooza in Stockholm, narrowing the odds of him being one of the final headliners for Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary that same weekend.

If indeed confirmed as a Glastonbury headliner, then the Friday night will be the Pyramid Stage for him to own – unless he headlines The Other Stage on the Saturday to clash with Sir Paul McCartney.

Post Malone, The Killers and Pearl Jam are among the other acts also confirmed for Lollapalooza Stockholm. Check the line-up below.

The Pussycat Dolls announce 2020 UK reunion tour

The Pussycat Dolls have confirmed rumours of their reunion with a host of UK live shows in the spring.

Performing together for the first time in over a decade, the group will visit Dublin, Cardiff, Birmingham, Nottingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds and London as part of their wider global The Pussycat Dolls 2020 Tour.

The group will also make their first televised performance since their reformation this weekend as they take centre-stage on The X Factor Final on Saturday.

Hear The Weeknd’s new single ‘Heartless’

Following various teasers over the past few days, The Weeknd has finally shared his long-awaited new single, ‘Heartless’.

The track, which marks Abel’s first piece of solo material since last year’s ‘My Dear Melancholy‘ EP, was premiered on the latest episode of his ‘Momento Mori‘ radio show on Apple’s Beats 1. A follow-up, titled ‘Blinding Lights’, is also expected to follow later this week.

The Weeknd teases return; new ‘Memento Mori’ show announced

The Weeknd has teased his long-awaited return, with new music expected to land imminently.

After tweeting “the fall begins tomorrow” on Monday, today Abel has since added fuel to fire, saying “TONIGHT WE START A BRAIN MELTING PSYCHOTIC CHAPTER LET’S GOOOO”. That was then followed by an Instagram Story confirming the latest episode of his ‘Memento Mori’ show on Apple’s Beats 1. That will air this evening, 26th November.

Reports have also started to circulate that The Weeknd will share TWO new songs this week after supposed artwork for ‘Blinding Lights’ and ‘Heartless’ both appeared online.

The singer last’s full-length studio record ‘Starboy’ was released in 2016 – last year he also shared his surprise EP, ‘My Dear Melancholy’.

Final Glastonbury 2020 headliners confirmed as soloists

Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis has confirmed the remaining 2020 headliners will be soloists, with both artists making their debut on Worthy Farm.

Speaking to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 earlier today (25th November), Eavis hinted “[It’s] their first time at Glastonbury, and we’ve got one male and one female”. The tease aligns with both Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift, both of whom have become bookies’ favourites over the past couple of months.

The news comes one week since Paul McCartney was revealed as the Saturday night headliner for Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary, marking the musician’s first return to the Pyramid Stage since 2004.

In the same interview, Emily also hinted that the identity of one of the new headliners could be revealed “this side of Christmas”, adding “most of it will be [announced at] the beginning of 2020. Everyone needs their moment”.

Glastonbury Festival runs from 24-28th June 2020.

Stormzy has announced his new single, ‘Own It’.

Featuring Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy, the track marks the latest excerpt from the Londoner’s upcoming second studio album, ‘Heavy Is The Head’, due out on 13th December.

‘Heavy Is The Head’, which follows Stormzy’s hugely-successful 2017 record ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ will feature past singles ‘Crown’ and ‘Vossi Bop’, both of which achieved Top 5 status in the UK (the latter reaching UK No.1 earlier this year).

Primal Scream announced as Standon Calling 2020’s first headliner

Primal Scream have been announced as the first headliners for 2020’s Standon Calling.

Set to return to its Hertfordshire home across the 23-26th July weekend, 2020’s Standon Calling will see the iconic rock group help pave the way for the festival’s anticipated 15th birthday party.

Festival Director and Founder Alex Trenchard says: “It’s going to be a big year for Standon Calling as we celebrate our 15th birthday. If someone told me 15 years ago that we’d be hosting one of the UK’s most iconic rock bands, I wouldn’t have believed them and I’m so proud and honoured to have seen Standon Calling grow from its garden party beginnings to hosting some of the worlds most renowned artists, such as Primal Scream. We can’t wait to unveil more magical music, moments and surprises in-store for our wonderful audience in 2020… watch this space!”

Tame Impala announced as first All Points East 2020 headliners

Tame Impala have been announced as the first headliners for 2020’s installment of All Points East.

Set to top the bill on Saturday 23rd May, the show has been confirmed as the Australian band’s only UK date of the year – they will be joined on the day by the likes of Caribou and Glass Animals (among others). Tame Impala’s fourth studio album ‘The Slow Rush’ is expected to land in February, and follows their 2015 release ‘Currents’.

All Points East, which will return to London’s Victoria Park for its third year running, will take place between 22nd-31st May; as per previous years, you can expect a wealth of extra names to be added over the coming months.

Mark Ronson has teamed up with Anderson .Paak for ‘Then There Were Two’.

Lifted off the soundtrack to the upcoming animated movie ‘Spies In Disguise’, ‘Then There Were Two’ comes as the first piece of new music from the super-producer since his recent project, ‘Late Night Feelings’. The ‘Spies In Disguise’ album, which drops on 13th Decmember, was executive-produced by Ronson in its entirety and features appearances from the likes of Lucky Daye, Lil Jon, and more.
