[NEW MUSIC] One Direction’s official Comic Relief single leaks

0

The new single by UK XFactor boyband One Direction has just been leaked, ahead of its official premier.

The low-quality leak of single, a cover of of Blondie’s ‘One Way Or Another’, is the official track of 2013’s Comic Relief. The leak, though obviously frustrating for label Syco, has prompted the pop band to tweet fans to drive them to pre-order the single for the charity.

Band member Louis Tomlinson tweeted “I hear the charity single has been leaked. Very sad to see. Don’t forget together we are trying to raise money for comic relief.” Adding on a later tweet “Please get behind an incredible charity and make a real difference. You can pre order now from iTunes for the official track. Thank you.”

The single is scheduled for release on 17th February, whilst a live performance in support of the track is expected at their forthcoming set at this year’s BRIT Awards.

[NEWS] Elton John, Snoop Dogg, True Tiger lead Bestival headliners

0

The full lineup for this September’s Bestival has been fully released, and like last year, is set to be a cracker.

Rising British stars Jessie Ware and Tom Odell lead the new talent, whilst beats & bars come from the likes of Disclosure and blog favourites True Tiger.

On the big-name front, Bestival have gone all out, with Elton John, The Roots and Snoop Dogg leading the pack, whilst throwbacks continue with the likes of Chic and Dexys.

DJ Yoda and Annie Mac provide two of the many astounding DJ sets for the weekend, whilst it’s Scroobius Pip who again leads the way in terms of meaningful spoken word and poetry.

I can’t wait!

[NEW MUSIC] Yelawolf unleashes new single ‘Way Out’

0

US rapper Yelawolf has just unleashed his new single ‘Way Out’ onto the interwebs. The track, off his forthcoming mixtape ‘Trunk Muzik Returns’ will be released alongside the free mixtape on March 14th.

Yelawolf hit mainstream success on his 2010 mixtape ‘Trunk Muzik’ and since then has been muted as one of the saving graces of poetic hip-hop (with that release considered by many critics as the greatest mixtape of all time). The rapper, who is signed to Eminem’s Shady Records, released his first major studio album ‘Radioactive’ in 2011, and surprised many the following year by releasing the joint EP ‘The Slumdon Bridge’ with our own export Ed Sheeran.

2013 is set to be a massive year for Alabama-born artist, with three big releases in the pipeline; forthcoming mixtape ‘Trunk Muzik Returns’, another collaboration EP (this time with Big K.R.I.T.) on ‘Country Cousins’, and then his third studio album, tentatively titled ‘Love Story’.

If you haven’t heard any of Yelawolf’s work, I strongly suggest you check out anything and everything. He’s the next generation of hip-hop and with the likes of Interscope and Shady Records putting faith in him, you know he means business.

[NEWS] ‘Gangnam Style is an absolute classic’ says Liam Gallagher

0

Yep, you read that headline right… Whilst speaking to Japanese fans during a webchat this morning, Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher, when asked what he thought about the K-Pop track that stormed 2012, replied with “I think it’s an absolute classic… I love it. My kid dances to it every morning and it makes me chuckle and spit out my Corn Flakes. I can’t wait to hear his new tune.”

Seriously, we’re not making this up…

In more upsetting news, Gallagher recently confirmed he has no intention of bringing his former band Oasis back together again. The singer (who’s currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to Beady Eye’s second LP), recently vented over brother Noel’s solo success:

“Was I pleased for him? What, for splitting up my fucking band? I’m not pleased for him, no! I hope he’s fucking happy but he doesn’t look it. Fuck Oasis as far as I’m concerned and fuck Noel Gallagher. The thought of going onstage with that fucking idiot and hanging out with his daft mates, the pretend drug addicts and all his snobs from Sloane Street. Fuck that, not interested, mate. We’re Beady Eye all the fucking way… I’ve got a new record, I’m buzzing off it.”

Enough said there, really….

Bruno Mars releases video for new single ‘When I Was Your Man’

1

Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Bruno Mars has released his long-awaited video to new single ‘When I Was Your Man’.

The single, Mars’ second release off last year’s No 1 album ‘Unorthadox Jukebox’, shows the more emotive ballad sign to the singer mostly known for his up-tempo funky, soulful pop tracks.

Mars underpins the piano-driven track with a simple, yet effective 70’s-style video focused on just him on the keys, reminiscent of early Elton John visuals.

The video (seen below) follows news the US star will be teaming up with Rihanna and Sting to perform at this weekend’s Grammy Awards.

[FEATURE] Beatboxing Saves Lives

0

Three of the UK’s biggest names in beatboxing have come together to highlight their plight to find a cure for Blood Cancer.

Reeps One, Beardyman and MC Zani have released a video in which they use their face, music and beats to spread the word about how easy it is to join the bone marrow register and save lives. As a bonus to thank us all for listening to their message they have produced one of the best beatboxing videos around. This video also follows a message from beatboxer Bass 6 from earlier on this year. The #Spit4Mum campaign is run by Jonni and Caroline Berger, who need to find a lifesaving stem cell donor for their mum in the next five weeks. I am lucky enough to be friends with both Reeps One and Bass 6, so it would mean a lot for you to at least check out their videos and see what they have to say/spit. [NEWS] Fleetwood Mac announce 2013 European Tour dates

60’s rock band Fleetwood Mac have announced the European leg of their 2013 tour, after their December reveal of US dates for this year.

Following 5 dates in key UK/Eire cities in September/October (Dublin, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow), the band will embark on touring in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.

[NEW MUSIC] Ex Mis-teeq singer Sabrina Washington unleashes lyric video to ‘Gone’

0

Ex Mis-teeq singer Sabrina Washington has just shared the lyric video to her new single ‘Gone’ on YouTube. The track, Washington’s first release on her own label ‘Swash Music’ is inspired by the barrage of life’s problems and how different people deal with them in different ways.

Some of you may remember the singer’s first foray as a solo artist back in 2010 with ‘OMG’. Sampling Snap’s anthemic ‘Rhythm Is A Dancer’, the track failed to crack the Top 40 (a shame as I found it a fairly upbeat and solid pop track back then); fingers crossed Sabrina manages to get some solo success with her new album, due out later this year….

….or selfishly speaking, hopefully not, so she can get back together with the rest of her old garage/RnB group and add another dose of happiness to #YearOfTheComeback.

Check out the lyric video to ‘Gone’ as well as ‘OMG’ below:

[NEWS] Fall Out Boy announce comeback and new tour

0

US punk band Fall Out Boy have just announced their comeback, with new song ‘My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)’, new album, and world tour.

The band, whose best-known work appeared on 2007’s ‘Infinity On High’, have been on a hiatus since November 2009, with members working on sideline projects of varying success.

Last month, guitarist Joe Trohman denied any reports of a reunion, by stating “The rumours are still untrue, unreal & totally outta this world!”

The band’s new album, ‘Save Rock And Roll’ will be released in May 2013, with the new single now available online. They will be supporting these releases by a small world-tour, hitting London on February 25th at Underworld?
