Beyonce and Andre 3000’s cover of Amy Winehouse’s acclaimed Back To Black has premiered on Mark Ronson’s radio show.
The cover, featuring on the forthcoming The Great Gatsby soundtrack, was played in its full guise on Ronson’s East Village show in full last night and turns Winehouse’s classic on it’s head. At the moment we only have the radio rip (below) however once the final version airs without a waterstamp we’ll be sharing that too.
It’s an odd rendition to be fair but let us know your thoughts anyhow:
British producer/singer-songwriter Labrinth has confirmed he is currently in the studio with Mike Posner and our very own X-Factor winner James Arthur.
Lab broke the news late on Friday evening via a simple Instagram photo (above) with a sub-message of:
Labrinth is incredibly protective of his work and will not release something unless it is of a superior quality; the fact remains that he clearly sees the talent in Arthur, as did the millions in the UK who voted for him to win the 2012 TV competition. Combine that with the brilliant talents of Mike Posner, then there’s clearly some exciting times ahead.

It’s been a long time coming, but it seems the wait is now over! Ex-Fugee Lauryn Hill has confirmed that a follow-up to 1998’s groundbreaking album The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill is in the works.
Speaking candidly on her Twitter account, the star said:
It has been reported that I signed a new record deal, and that I did this to pay taxes. Yes, I have recently entered into an agreement with Sony Worldwide Entertainment, to launch a new label, on which my new music will be released. And yes, I am working on new music.
I’ve remained silent, after an extensive healing process. This has been a 10+ year battle, for a long time played out behind closed doors, but now in front of the public eye. This is an old conflict between art and commerce… free minds, and minds that are perhaps overly tethered to structure. This is about inequity, and the resulting disenfranchisement caused by it. I’ve been fighting for existential and economic freedom, which means the freedom to create and live without someone threatening, controlling, and/or manipulating the art and the artist, by tying the purse strings.
It took years for me to get out of the ‘parasitic’ dynamic of my youth, and into a deal that better reflects my true contribution as an artist, and (purportedly) gives me the control necessary to create a paradigm suitable for my needs. I have been working towards this for a long time, not just because of my current legal situation, but because I am an artist, I love to create, and I need the proper platform to do so.
The nature of my new business venture, as well as the dollar amount reported, was inaccurate, only a portion of the overall deal. Keep in mind, my past recordings have sold over 50,000,000 units worldwide, earning the label a tremendous amount of money (a fraction of which actually came to me).
Only a completely complicated set of traps, manipulations, and inequitable business arrangements could put someone who has accomplished the things that I have, financially in need of anything. I am one artist who finds value in openly discussing the dynamics within this industry that force artists to compromise or distort themselves and what they do, rather than allowing them to make the music that people need. There are volumes that could (and will) be said.

Aussie down-tempo singer Sia has unveiled her haunting effort as part of the forthcoming soundtrack to The Great Gatsby movie. Kill and Run marks a strong return to form for the Breathe Me singer – put simply, this girl knows how to create a ballad on epic proportions each and every time.
Much like Lana Del Rey’s effort on the same album (with Young and Beautiful), the track is hugely cinematic and will clearly provide a strong backdrop within the movie.
Further to her Pepsi endorsement, Beyonce has landed another sponsorship, this time with fashion retailer H&M. In the ad, the global superstar has revealed a new single Standing On The Sun.
Whilst the release of Beyonce’s new single Grown Woman never actually transpired, it seems that lucky fans at her Paris show witnessed the new track in all its glory.

Canadian dance DJ/producer Deadmau5 has quietly uploaded some of his new production work on his Soundcloud account, and we have them here!
The two beats, entitled Assume Control and Modular/Moog Bass have shown a more ambient side of the producer, with the artist describing the first as a get-back to AfroJack:
“Sorry for the ‘jacked afro’ crap at the end there…. was testing a module out, wanted to see if i could get a saw to resync on note retrigger / rise n fall of pitch stuff. for science. moog bass + modular.”

It seems on a daily occurrence lately that a new track from The Great Gatsby soundtrack gets released, and today is no exception. Earlier this afternoon, post-club chillout/dub band The XX unveiled their cut from the new movie Together.
Not only is The Great Gatsby starting to become one of the most eagerly-awaited movies this year, the soundtrack is quickly following suit. With an album largely put together by Jay-Z, and featuring tracks by the likes of Beyonce, The XX, Florence and the Machine and Andre 3000,
Now that a few dates have already been performed, Beyonce has taken to her YouTube channel to release the full-length trailer to her current ‘Mrs Carter Show’ world tour.
The trailer, taken from the Serbian leg of the show features the as-expected elaborate set, with costume changes and choreography aplenty.
